The national guard is a military reserve force made up of citizens from all over the United States. It first appeared in 1792 as part of George Washington’s Continental Army. The Guard was formally established on October 15, 1814, when President James K. Polk activated it to support the War of 1812. After the war, the Guard became an independent service and was based at Fort Sumter in Charleston, South Carolina. In 1902, the National Guard Bureau was created and responsibility for organizing and directing the Guard was transferred to this bureau. The National Guardsmen are federally mobilized when called upon by Congress to help maintain law and order during emergencies or periods of unrest. They are also available for state-level duty where required by governors or legislatures. Today, there are more than 350,000 National Guardsmen assigned to units across the country including 958 combat battalions and 526 rifle companies specializing in counterterrorism operations; 203 cavalry brigades; 12 amphibious brigades; 10 air assault brigade command posts; 1 artillery battalion; 8 intelligence units; 2 Ranger battalions; 182 trooper detachments serving overseas (including 38 Mountain Home detachment); 3 chemical unit commands (1 mine warfare command post and 2 smoke grenade launchers); 11 emergency response forces comprising 16 fire districts with a total area of 344 square miles (847 square kilometers) ; 4 hazardous materialsresponse teams ; 1 Federal Law Enforcement Training Center There is no set expiration date for national guard service members' enlistment but they typically serve through Out-of-Service Dates (OSDs) which can be obtained from their unit commander or branch headquarters after completing their basic training requirements. Eligibility for enlistment into the National Guard depends on your place of residence at time you complete your recruit training at a local military installation/school or if you have volunteered for Selective Service since 19 November 1942 The age requirement is 21 years old unless you are exempt under wartime laws Enlistment into federal service must be announced by your unit's commanding officer You will receive a uniform once you complete basic training Unit commanders must ensure that enlisted members receive physical education and drill instruction as well as infantry tactics , navigation skills both coastal/riverine and inland . Drill sergeants guide troops while drill corporals direct men in movement off ground course - AICF Sergeants Instruct Cadets onfirearm use EOD techniques while Drill Sergeants provide company discipline etc... Inactive duty status does not affect eligibility If discharged before out ofservice date then reenlisted without again undergoing recruit training otherwise ineligible until discharged

Chamblee, Georgia is a town in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 1,571 at the 2000 census. Chamblee is the most populous city in Fulton County and the county seat of Fulton County. It is also part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. Chamblee was founded by Captain John Futch as a small clearing on the Chattahoochee River during the early 1800s. The community grew around this location due to its natural resources and its strategic location between embarking on wagon trains heading eastward from Chattanooga and westward from Nashville along the Tennessee River. By 1853, Chatham had been named after General Andrew Jackson's army general who fought at Battle of Horseshoe Bend that year and located just upstream from Chatham on the opposite bank of the Chattahoochee River from where it now stands. In 1872, Captain Futch donated land east of his original settlement for what would become Chamblee Township. On December 11, 1875, Chickasaw Indian Chief Tecumseh led a force against white settlers in an attack known as Battle of Chickasaw Prairie which resulted in several deaths and damage to property across much of central Cobb County including downtown Chamblee In 1907-1908 local entrepreneur Harry Chandler purchased 2/3 interest in Coca-Cola Company for $2 million; he created one of America's first commercially successful beverage companies with plants in Atlanta (now ATL) and Chattanooga before selling it all to Coca Cola for $35 million in 1928. Chamblee's post office opened on July 10, 1904 under name "Hickory Hill". In 1916 when Clayton Marmon merged with Georgia Power Company to create American Electric Power company Chamblee became their primary sales center until they left Atlantans behind to form Southern Company (later Entergy) Headquarters there in 1959 but remain an important part of our community today as a retail anchor mall with over 100 stores within walking distance serving over 350 restaurants including many Chain restaurants such as KFC and Pizza Hut In 1984 IKEA opened a store here adjacent to their current distribution center
The National Guard was created on September 20, 1792 by the United States Congress as a reserve force for the purpose of providing military support to the government during times of emergency. The first militia units were raised in Pennsylvania and New York. The National Guard originally consisted of men from rural areas who had volunteered to serve in order to protect their village or town from depredations by Native Americans or other hostile forces. In 1933, the Militia Act was passed which increased the size and duty of the National Guard. At this time, there were over 2 million soldiers and sailors in the country's military forces with an additional 375,000 civilians employed as guardsmen. This increase in manpower made it possible for more state militias to be organized into brigades under a brigade commander instead of being scattered among various counties or towns. Today, there are over 120 different militia component commands across America that can provide manpower and resources when called upon by their state legislatures or president. One reason why gift giving is such an important part of national guard history is because it has been used as a means for members of both political parties to show their appreciation for service to country and keep up morale within the unit. Gifts have ranged from small items like campfire starters or mugs to more significant gifts such as rifles or artillery pieces. There have also been occasions where members have donated entire arsenals or even whole contingents of troops in order to help out another county during a conflict (e.g., World War II). Most recently, gifts have become increasingly common in order to commemorate an event such as a birthday, anniversary, wedding/boutique party etc.; however, any special occasion will always require planning and consideration before gifting something specific thereto!
The National Guard has been a part of the United States since 1775. The first units were raised in Rhode Island in 1776, and the first national guard regiment was organized in Georgia in 1802. In 1861, when Confederate forces invaded the United States, more than 10,000 soldiers from all over the country joined the National Guard to fight for their cause. The unit that would become known as the 1st Infantry Regiment was mobilized on April 12th 1861 and served throughout the Civil War. After the war ended, many of these men returned home and were discharged or resigned from service; however, a small number decided to stay behind and form a new regiment called the 1st Cavalry Regiment. This unit would serve until 1865 when it was disbanded due to lack of manpower.
Chamblee was founded in 1837 by John Chamblee and his wife, Sarah. The Chamblees were farmers and cattle ranchers who developed the area into a thriving community. The Chamblees were also instrumental in helping to form the city of Atlanta. John Chamblee was born in 1792 in what is now Georgia. He started out as a help with his father's farm and eventually became a successful landowner and farmer. In 1837, John Challege married Sarah, whom he had met while she worked on his farm. They moved to Chattahoochee County, Georgia where they started farming again and built their home near present-day Chamblee. The couple soon opened up some more businesses in the town, such as a grocery store and post office. In 1841, they had their first child, Honora Jane Chamblee Chamblee. Honora Jane would go on to become an accomplished author and speaker both within Atlanta and nationally. She died at the age of eighty-six years old in 1949 after publishing her autobiography titled "A Memoir of My Life". In addition to their daughter Honora Jane, John Challege also had two other daughters: Laura Mae Challege (1848-1935) and Anna Louise Challege (1850-1936). Anna Louise would become an accomplished journalist both within Atlanta and nationally before her death at the age of ninety-eight years old in 1970. Laura Mae would marry Drury Loyd Gamble (1863-1927), one of only three men everto be elected Mayor ofAtlanta from 1913 to 1917; however she would later remarry after having children with Drury Loyd Gamble II (1900-1968). Finally, John Challege Jr., who preceded his father as an owner/farmer/town merchant turned mayor all along did not have any children legitimate living until after World War II when he adopted his son Edward J Challege Jr., who became an eminent real estate developer throughout much of Atlantas inner city neighborhoods beginning during the late 1960s through early 1990s
Chamblee was founded in 1834 by John Chamblee. The town became a community of African Americans who were brought to the area from other parts of Georgia. The town played an important role in the history of Georgia, as it was one of the few places where blacks could live and work together.
