The Carrollton-based Air Force deployed a variety of gift baskets to its troops in Afghanistan in late 2001. These baskets, often inscribed with the words “Thank you for your service,” were sent as a thank-you present to soldiers who had participated in Operation Enduring Freedom. The basket tradition began shortly after 9/11 and continued until 2003, when Operation Iraqi Freedom prompted the deployment of more gift baskets. The air force has also sent Christmas presents to military members stationed around the globe since 1992. Since the early 1990s, Greeting Cards for Soldiers has been a popular air force giveaway. Each year we send out thousands of cards bearing artwork from various locations all around the United States and abroad including Afghanistan and Iraq. This year’s featured location is Fort Bliss near Austin, Texas where we will be sending an Arizona soldier his very own personalized card!
The United States Air Force has a deployable Gift of Life program that provides compassionate and thoughtful gifts to family members of service members killed in action. The program began in 1990 as a way to express condolences and support the families of servicemen and women who have lost their lives in the line of duty. To date, over 340 Gifts of Life have been given through the program. The Air Force Gift of Life Program is designed to provide comfort, support, and dignity for military families during these difficult times. The program allows families to select from a variety of gift options, including flowers, jewelry, books, or a trip to an air base in away state. Through the Gift of Life Program, the USAF wants to help those who have lost someone they love during our country’s military operations. By giving something meaningful back to their loved ones, we can show them that we care about them and are here for them when they need us most.

Carrollton is a town in Cobb County, Georgia, United States. The population was 14,715 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. The first permanent settler in Carrollton was Alexander McGillivray, who arrived in 1784. In 1801, Josiah Gregg bought land in present-day Carrollton from McGillivray and founded the Gregg family farmstead there. The first post office in Carrollton was established in 1802; it was renamed to Mitchell after Major General James Mitchell (1786-1834). Carrollton grew rapidly due to its location on a major road connecting Atlanta and Athens. Manufacturing activities soon followed; the first machine shop opened in 1814 and industry expanded until World War I when Carrollton's population declined because of wartime relocation restrictions. By the late 1920s, however, automobile production had resumed and growth resumed as RESEARCH ESTABLISHMENT COOPERATIVE GLOBAL ENGINEERING INC., now known as ATLANTA BUSINESS CONSULTING GROUP LLC., moved into what is now downtown from MidtownAtlanta with a new 16-story building that became home to many of their products during the 1990s through 2000s boom period real estate prices were high but today they are much more affordable

However, during the 1930s, the city began to experience rapid decline due to factors such as industrialization and poor management. In 1939, Carrollton was designated as a accidental community by Atlanta Mayor Ralph Bunche because it lacked any real municipal infrastructure or services. Since then, much work has been done to improve Carrolton's infrastructure and make it more like other major Georgian cities. Today, Carrollton is an important cultural destination that retains its historical roots while becoming a vibrant metropolis with strong economic ties to surrounding counties. The city has grown increasingly diverse over the years, with many new restaurants and businesses opening up in recent years – making it an even more popular tourist destination for visitors from around Georgia and beyond.
