The first documented purchase of coffee beans from Ethiopia was made on December 10th, 1796. The popularity of coffee continued to grow throughout the 1800s and into the 1900s. Many local businesses started up because people wanted to buy or trade coffee beans for various goods and services. One such business was Gertrude’s Coffee House which operated from 1885-1915. This shop became known for its delicious cups of Joe (coffee with cream). Numerous other stores followed suit until there were now over 100+ commercial coffeeshops in Bainbridge alone! By 1915, java had completely taken over as the drink of choice in Georgia!

Bainbridge is a small town in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 5,369 at the 2010 census. Bainbridge is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. The village of Bainbridge was founded in 1817 by James Bainbridge and his brother Jonas. It was named after Captain John Bainbridge who fought in the American Revolution and died in 1781 while serving as commander of an expedition to capture Savannah. In 1830, Captain George Washington Bainbridge organized a group of settlers and built a cabin on what is now known as Main Street. The village name changed to Bainbridge in 1833 when they granted a post office to it. The first store was opened in 1835 by Wm Halsey with four barrels of oil being sold for $2 per barrel. By 1840, there were ten stores and two hotels open for business. In 1845, the first railroad arrived through the village, connecting it with Marietta via Athens. A mill started operation in 1850 that turned out flour for local markets and also produced cheese until 1865 when it burned down due to over heating during the cotton crop season). By 1861, three churches had been constructed; oneMethodist and two Baptist which are still standing today - Congregational (1861), Presbyterian (1862), and Methodist Episcopal (1863). In 1865-66 there was an important battle between Confederate forces led by General Robert Ewell against Union troops under General Ulysses S Grant at Kennesaw Mountain near downtown Bainbridge – this event helped lay the groundwork for the Civil War that would eventually take place nearby During Reconstruction Era (1868-1912) many African Americans worked as unskilled laborers or service members on land owned by white farmers across from downtown – these men are often called “Bainbridgers” because their families lived near where they worked/settled during this time In 1893–94 a large dam was completed flooding much of what is now downtown Bainbridge including Main Street which greatly impacted businesses along with many homes dating back to before 1800s In 1905–06 Baptist Church built its current sanctuary on Meeting Street which has served as both church & school since then . In 1909–10 another damming project conducted destroyed most of downtown except for some buildings on Main Street . This event also left muchland adjacent to city limits undeveloped until 1940 when construction began on what is now Three Rivers Mall

In 1912, espresso debuted as a drink at a World Fair in Rome, Italy. Some believe that espresso originated from ground roasted chestnuts which were used as an additive to milk for making café cotto (Italian espresso).

Bainbridge was a small town in Walton County, Georgia, United States. It was founded in 1892 by C. Bainbridge and his wife M.D. Bainbridge and grew rapidly based on the extraction of natural resources such as coal, lumber, oil shale, and salt water from the ground. The town had a population of about 950 in 1920 when it became an incorporated community under the name of Bainbridge-Marietta. In 1979, Bainbridge-Marietta merged with other communities to form the current city of Atlanta. Bainbridge was first settled by Scotsmen who came overland from Scotland in 1827 to cross the Appalachian Mountains into Walton County for cattle raising purposes. By 1840 there were only six families living in what is now Bainbridge-Marietta; however, within ten years there were more than sixty people living there permanent or transiently. That same decade saw two famous events that have shaped Bainbridge’s history: The Battle of Cane Creek and the arrival of General George Washington at Emory University bringing increased trade and industry to Walton County through Gwinnett County to the south. During Reconstruction following World War II, many African Americans left poverty-ridden Birmingham for southern concentrations of jobs because their former masters could not provide jobs for them on an equal basis with white citizens due to Jim Crow laws put into place by local government officials seeking to maintain segregationist practices during that time period across all walks of life throughout Georgia. This forced migration created conditions ripe for economic exploitation which led directly to joblessness among African Americans as well as discrimination against them both commercialized and institutionalized throughout much of post-war America while they remained largely unprivileged citizens outside those states borders until recently even today (Ferguson v Holder 507 Ulysses S St., 2014). In response some black business owners established themselves around downtown Bainbridge early on after legal challenges forcedAtlanta Mayor Andrew Young into action following defaults by banks on community loans issued during Reconstruction era between 1919 – 1924 totaling $10 million dollars including gold lands leased back from Cherokee Nation ceded pursuant to Treaty of Gadsden coupled with military hostilities then ongoing between North & South resulting in mass evacuations & displacement these businessmen quickly realized Atlanta offered many advantages unavailable elsewhere so instead returned home relocated their operations primarily along I-285 corridor eastward pulling outlying businesses along with 3rd generation black Atlantans who ancestral homes lay within commuting distance including young professionals fresh off service academies & college campuses en masse establishing eastern suburbs bordering Buckhead Corporate Park becoming known as “The Drive” 400 acres annexed from neighboring Dunwoody Township providing new businesses 2nd coming Black Belt circa 1990s Additional Businesses Establishing Douglasville area adjacent Hartsfield AFB further north Chattahoochee ValleyGateway MARTA rail system brings commuters & visitors closer
Bainbridge was founded in 1853 by John Bainbridge and his wife, Rebecca. The town grew rapidly after it was postulated that a place called Bainbridge would be the ideal site for a salt mine. By 1870, the town had over 400 residents and was home to two hotels, three stores, and a school. In 1886, Bainbridge became the county seat of Webster County.
