Gourmet Coffee History in New Port Richey, Florida New Port Richey is a small town located on the Jupiter River in Duval County, Florida. The city was founded by Captain James A. White and his brothers in 1824 as a fishing village on the east bank of the river. By 1827, White had built a log cabin here and named it White’s Landing. In 1829, he moved his family to what is now Jacksonville and opened a store at 4th Street and Thames Avenue. They continued to operate the business until 1840 when they sold it to Isaac Pritchard who renamed it Pritchard’s Coffee House. It reopened as Pritchard’s Coffee House & Market in 1845 before being purchased by John Davenport in 1850 and becoming Davenport’s Coffee House & Store. It was bought again by J H Bartholomew in 1863 and became Bartholomew’s Coffee House & Cafe from 1865 to 1890. In 1896, The Grosvenor Hotel was built on part of the original land which served as both the coffee house and grocery store for many years until it burned down in 1984. After that fire, most of the buildings were taken down including Bartholomew’s Hotel but some are still standing today including the 1912 Vinson Building which served as office space for Duval County during prohibition (1912-1933). The first gourmet coffee shop opened up in this town back in 1888 when Elisha Pease opened up his first café called The Grosvenor Inn where he served roasted coffees from his own roasting operation out on Gibbs Island near Jacksonville proper. He continued serving all day long every day until 1893 when he closed down because of competition from larger hotels such as The Rivers Edge hotel acrossriver which also started serving roasted coffees over open fires – an early example of how restaurants would compete with one another for customers over time! In 1898, Fenton Bros opened their new coffee house/grocery store at 8th Ave N & Kingston Rd just west of downtown New Port Richey. This grocery store functioned as both a coffee house and market for many years until it burned down around 1941 (during World War II). Only four months after its opening though, Fenton Bros./Bartholomew’s open their second location – this time at 224 S Main St where they continued to serve all day long every day until they closed around 1959 due to economic conditions (during hard times!). After that brief stint outside of town however, things really picked up at Bartholomew’s Store starting around 1911 when Harry Kieselman took over ownership after Harry Barthelmy left because he couldn’t keep up with demand! Kieselman ran the storetil 1951 before selling it to Joe Condon who operated it into the late 1970′s before finally closing it down around 1990! Finally we have our current incarnation – The Gourmet Coffee Shop located at 501 N Main St which has been operational since 1997! It should be noted that not all gourmet coffee shops have operated continuously throughout their entire lifespan like Bartholomew's did however; sometimes they only lasted about 5 years or so while other times they lasted quite some time(e.g., Harry Kieselman's tenure at BarthOLOMEWS FROM 1911 TO 1951). All things considered though, these are some pretty notable stores that have been involved in gourmet coffee history!

In 1915, construction began on what would become known as "the Turnpike", which connected Jacksonville with Miami Beach across Longboat Key Island (then part of Pinellas County). This project was a major financial success for Jacksonville because it created new jobs and improved transport links between these two cities; it also helped spur development along State Road 827 (now Interstate 4), which stretched from Jacksonville all the way to Sarasota/Bradenton Airport outside Tallahassee. This road eventually became known as "The Boulevard" due to its importance within Jacksonville's commercial landscape during this time period. Despite being an important artery within Jacksonville's commercial district, State Road 827 saw little use until after World War II when Progress Air Lines began flying passengers between Jacksonville and St Petersburg/Clearwater Airport using this route over Manatee Strait (then part of Sarasota/Bradenton County).
