Gun gift history in Lauderhill, Florida began with the purchase of a shotgun by E.J. Smith in 1909. In 1927, A.L. Kapp purchased a rifle from E.J. Smith and continued to give away shotguns and rifles until his death in 1949. The last gun owner to be recorded at the store was Mrs. Lena Ladd who handed down her guns to her daughter-in-law, Kathy, after she died in 1980. From then on, the family kept the guns and ammo stock at their home until sold to a private party in 1992 when it was donated to Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America (MDSA). Since then, it has been enjoyed by members of the Lauderhill community as part of their museum collection which is now on permanent display at the local library branch alongside other firearms from throughout Lauderhill's history.

Guns have been a part of Lauderhill, Florida since at least the 1870s. The first guns to be built in Lauderhill were pistols. In 1892, a gunsmith named George Hill designed and built the first rifle in Lauderhill. The rifle was called the "Hill Rifle." It was very successful, and other gunsmiths followed suit. By 1910, there were over 50 gunsmiths in Lauderhill.
Lauderhill is a small town in Broward County, Florida, United States. The population was 5,849 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami metropolitan area. Lauderhill is located in south-central Broward County on U.S. Route 1 between Weston and unincorporated areas of Fort Lauderdale to the east and west and near Plantation on the bayous to the north. Lauderhill's history began with Spanish settlers who arrived in 1795 as part of a large group called La Fortunata that included Manuel de Rivera y Costilla, Don José Francisco Pérez y Mora, Antonio López de Ayala, Gaspar Rodríguez Díaz and others from Havana. They erected log cabins on what is now Sunrise Highway and named it "Las Animas". A post office was established in 1868, but no mail ever arrived because there was no road through the forest then. In 1881 a group of Englishmen led by James Sargent bought land about 2 miles (3 km) northwest of present-day Lauderhill from Carlos Menocal for $1 million dollars after Menocal had failed to sell it to another developer during his initial attempt to purchase it from Otero family heirs years earlier. This community became known as Sargentville after James Sargent’s friend and mentor Sir Arthur Conan Doyle who lived nearby while attending college at USF (later USM), which later merged with Florida State University to form FIU. In 1929 Dr Jerome Hirschman purchased 3 tracts totaling , extending one mile (1 km) south along Sunrise Highway including what are now parts of Lauderhill proper; this tract became known as "The Highlands", still used today for shopping purposes only within the boundaries set by Hirschman’s deed restrictions which remain in effect today nearly 100 years after he acquired it from Eben Upton Jr., owner/operator of Sunrise Radio Corporation†† The original settlers were mostly men whose families ranajudies such as Ramos, Manrique and Orozco were prominent landowners hereabouts until sold off or died out around 1912 when much unpopulated land reverted back into Indian Bush control due to hunting leases being issued by echelon government officials during times such as those preceding American annexation thru force or sale under duress—thus largely maintaining traditional patterns & practices among thesenoble clans & their descendants continue even unto our own day despite some recent legal attempts by other groups (& authorities)to change or rewrite old Tales

Lauderhill is a town in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood metropolitan area. Lauderhill is located on State Road 754, about 12 miles (19 km) north of downtown Fort Lauderdale and 14 miles (23 km) south of Miami. The first European settlers in what is now Lauderhill were French colonists who arrived in 1764 and named it Plantation de la Fayette after General Marquis de Lafayette. Spanish colonists founded La Vega in 1768 with land grants from King Carlos III of Spain. A German family also came to live in Lauderhill early on and named it Knoppershof following their arrival in 1810. In 1821, American pioneers Michael Laughlin and his brother James Laughlin established a camp called “The Lakes” off U.S.-27 south of present-day Lauderhill on the site where they later built the original courthouse and jail. In 1848, Broward County was created from part of Orange County when that county was split between South Florida (then known as Union County) and Broward; Lauderhill was not included within Broward but it soon became an important community within its boundaries due to its location near Ft Worth Army Airfield (now Joint Base Andrews). In 1915, Lauderdale–Fort Lauderdale International Airport was founded adjacent to portions of what would become today's southern section of Lauderhill just east of I-95 Truck Stop Rd., making it one of only two international airports serving Palm Beach County at that time outside Miami/Dade county; the other airport being Hollywood Bowl which opened in 1956). By 1961, there were over 2,000 residents living primarily within city limits while large areas lying beyond city limits were settled by retirees or military personnel stationed nearby during World War II or subsequent Korean Wars such as The Vietnam War era Base America/Lauderdale airfield which served both Test Pilots Training School USAF pilots flying missions over South Korea for North Vietnam before their return home while Parkland AFB provided storage facilities for USMC aircraft used during exercises against North Koreans Atoll Noirmoutier operations), Cuban refugees fleeing Fidel Castro's regime throughout the 1970s through 1980s as well as numerous retirees who had retired from local service agencies such as electricians or plumbers prior to eligibility for full retirement benefits under provisions enacted by then Governor Lawton Chiles shortly after he took office in 1978; many residents have lived here since prewar days when most families resided close to either mangroves or marshlands along Ft Worth Bayou providing limited access to fresh water but ample mosquito breeding habitat necessary for black flies larva development necessary for white fly pupation each summer thereby providing all year round food supply needed by these birds attracted hither during extremely hot weather months typically May - October
