Largo, Florida is a city located in Pinellas County, Florida. The population was 32,815 at the 2010 census. Largo is theprimary commercial center of the area and it is also a major economic hub for its surrounding counties. The first people to live in Largo were Creek Indians who had been living there since before European settlement began. In 1868, George Washington Smith built himself a small cabin on Chenabee Island and named it Smithville after himself. Largo was founded by J.D. Payne in 1886 as an agricultural town on the east coast of Tampa Bay due to its location at the mouth of the St Lucie River. It rapidly became a commercial center due to its strategic position between Tampa and Clearwater Beach, as well as its access to water supplies from both sources. Largo's growth continued into the 20th century; during World War II, it became one of America's largest air-raids against Nazi Germany because it was within easy range of Allied forces based in Tampa Bay and Clearwater Beach. After the war, local businesses turned their attention back to agriculture which continues to be Largos mainstay today; although industry has become more prominent over time with various manufacturing plants becoming operational in what once comprised only sparsely populated rural areas around town (e.g., Boeing Plant No 2). In recent years, however, Largo has seen modest but steady growth in terms of overall population and job opportunities thanks to developments such as new shopping malls (such as One Palm Center) and large highway projects that have drawn jobs away from traditional farming areas nearby like Citrus Hill and Indian Rocks beachfront communities like Lauderdale Lakes and Boca Raton

The AAF also donated helicopters and planes to various countries during the Cold War. Today, the USAF deploys gift history worldwide as part of its outreach program. The AAF has accumulated more than 245,000 gifts from service members and civilians since 1945. Many of these gifts are preserved and exhibited at air force museums around the world.

Largo was founded in 1881 by John Largo and his wife, Julia. It is a small town located in Miami-Dade County, Florida. The name comes from the Spanish word for " largo." The area that now makes up Largo was first inhabited by Seminole Indians. In 1831, John Largo and his brother, James Largo, bought land in this area and began to build a home. They named their home Villa Real de las Américas. In 1901, the brothers sold their land to Wm. Kapp of Jacksonville for $1 million dollars. Kapp intended to Develop the land into an urban area with businesses and homes. However, due to World War I (1914-18), many people left Largo and its businesses failed during that time period; however, they have since recovered thanks to tourism growth over the years. In 1925, Arthur Ashe became the first professional golfer in Largo when he played at the local country club known as “The Links” on Boynton Beach Boulevard near today’s intersection of Northwest Second Avenue and Northeast Third Street. This course still exists today as part of Sawgrass Golf Club., one of South Florida’s most prestigious courses playing 6 holes par 72 with elevation changes of 245 feet above sea level…. Largo has also been home to many famous athletes over the years such as Jimmy Connors who won two Umpire World Cups here (in 1957 & 1959) while living in nearby Boca Raton; Muhammad Ali who fought here twice (1965 & 1970); Pam Shriver who hosted her own show on TV called “Shriver Palace Live!” which aired from 1984 until 2000;and David Beckham who played for Manchester United FC here between 2007-2011
Largo is the oldest community in Broward County, Florida. It was founded in 1892 by white settlers who named it for John Largo, a local landowner. The community grew rapidly during the early 20th century and soon became one of the most important economic nodes in South Florida. By the end of World War II, Largo had become an overwhelmingly black neighborhood. However, its status as a predominantly black community has gradually declined over time; today, it is just over half-white.
