Maga coffee is a Colombian-born, American coffee beans that have been roasted and ground in Clearwater, Florida since the early 1990s. The beans are sold under the name of "Maga" and are used for both espresso and iced coffee drinks. The first maga coffee was roasted in Clearwater by Roberto Gomez y Ochoa in 1992. It was originally called "Casa de Oro," but the name was changed because it clashed with another local brand, Casa de la Casa. In 2002, Gomez passed away, leaving his son Roberto Gomez Jr. to continue the business. In 2013, Roberto Gomez Sr.'s daughter-in-law Christina Martinez took over as owner/operator of the business. Martinez has published two cookbooks based on her recipes for maga coffee: one focuses on using whole bean maga coffee forista (or French press) brewing; the other explores how to make complex blends of different types of magasins (espresso and iced tea). Today, there are three main production areas for maga coffee: Colombia Catatumbo, Costa Rica La Esperanza, and Panama San Isidro. Each area produces a unique flavor profile that can be found only at those plantations. These profiles include a sweeter taste than typical Colombian dark roast beans; a more bitter aftertaste; and a fruity undertone that often includes pineapple or apple flavors. Clearwater, Florida is a small city in Lee County, Florida. The population was 9,437 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford Metropolitan Statistical Area. Clearwater is located on the banks of the Stonington River and has a large inland commercial area as well as several smaller streets that run perpendicular to it for about two miles. The name "Clearwater" likely comes from an Indian word meaning "clear water." The first white person to set foot in what is now Clearwater was Captain John Smith in 1763. He named it after his ship's captain, who had also been called Clearwater by the natives. At one time there were more than seventy such settlements along and around the riverbanks where today's Clearwater stands. In 1823, Robert Higgs built a sawmill and gristmill on Clearwater Creek which became one of Seminole County's most important economic assets. In 1839, Colonel James Wilkinson surveyed and purchased 1,500 acres (560 hectares) of land east of present-day Clearwater Creek for $1 per acre ($/km²). This tract would become known as Wilkinson Ranch after him. Wilkinson founded Fort Walton Beach onland here in 1840 to serve as an anchorage for vessels traveling up or down the Stonington River during periods when navigation was difficult due to shoals or obstruction near Point Comfort Lighthouse (now part of Disney World). In 1861, Governor Andrew Johnson issued a proclamation creating Lee County from portions of Orange and Osceola Counties; Clearwater Township was included within this new county. The first mention of the drink can be found in ancient Greece, where it was called “maga” or “cappuccino.” In Rome, maga coffee was known as black coffee. It wasn’t until the 18th century that Europeans began to enjoy this unique bean-based beverage. Maga coffee became popular in Europe during the Bourbon Dynasty, which ruled France from 1643 to 1715. During this time, French nobility enjoyed a high level of social Mobility and privilege. As a result, they were able to purchase a wide range of luxury goods, including wine and coffee beans. This allowed them to indulge in their favorite pastime – drinking expensive coffee beans! Maga Coffee continued to be popular throughout the 19th century although its production declined due to technological advances. However, it regained popularity starting in the early 20th century thanks to World War I when European countries needed caffeine for energy purposes. After WWI, maga coffee began experiencing significant growth again and has since become one of the most popular global drinks!

Clearwater is a city in Escambia County, Florida, United States. The population was 25,878 at the 2010 census. Clearwater is part of the Pensacola–Ft. Walton–Bechuanaland–Escambia Metropolitan Statistical Area. The name "Clearwater" originated from the area's clear waters and white sand beaches which attracted early Spanish settlers. The area now known as Clearwater was first settled by Seminole Indians in the late 18th century after they were forced out of their lands in Georgia and South Carolina by British troops. In 1837, Captain John Stroud of the Alabama Territory Company founded a trading post on Clearwater Beach while he was exploring Escambia County for a new home for his people. Stroud named his new town Clearwater after its clear water and white sand beaches which he saw while exploring the county. By 1840, many other American pioneers had also establishes their homes in Clearwater and it became an important commercial center during this time period with shipbuilding being one of its most prominent businesses. In 1876, Clearwaters first school opened up when Mrs Fenton donated land to build a school house on Bay Street near present day Gulfport Boulevard. This school served as the starting point for many future schools throughout Escambia County including several that still stand today including Crystal Springs Elementary School (now part of Fort Myers University), Plantation Park Elementary School (later known as Miracle Gardens Middle Schools), Sunrise Elementary School (later renamed Myrin Middle Schools) and Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Primary School where Sister Rita started teaching in 1964 until her retirement in 2009. After being closed down for over 30 years due to budget cuts imposed by then-Mayor Don Burchfield, Our Lady Of Lourdes finally reopened its doors again in 2012 with assistance from various organizations including local business owners who pooled money together to purchase their former building which housed several hundred students grades K-2 before it was destroyed by Hurricane Ivan).
