Belle Glade coffee began as a small-scale operation in the early 1970s. The first roaster was located in a home on Belle Glade Boulevard and produced only two cups of coffee each month. Over time, the business grew and soon had its own roaster, oven, and packaging plant. By the late 1990s, Belle Glade Coffee had become one of the largest coffee companies in Florida.
Belle Glade is a small town in south Florida that was founded in the early 1800s. The community has a rich history and is known for its natural resources, such as sugar cane, citrus, and timber. It is also home to several endemic species of plants and animals. Belle Glade has attracted many people over the years because of its unique culture, landscape, and attractions. The Belle Glade community occupies a small but valuable piece of land located on the edge of Stuart County between Wellmanville and Melbourne. The land was purchased by Major General James Robertson in 1828 from the Muslim population living near Fort Myers. The first settler in Belle Glade was John Witherspoon who arrived in 1829 with his family. He built a cabin on what is now US-1 which he named "Alamo". Over time, other settlers arrived and the area became known as Belle Glade due to its beautiful scenery and gentle climate. In 1860, Father Antoine Bourgeois set up his religious order called the Sisters of Providence at what is now St Mary's Hospital Park. Father Bourgeois had come to America from France during the French Revolution and wanted to start a convent in America so he could help persecuted Catholics escape persecution back home. In 1862, Father Bourgeois founded Belle Glade's first Catholic Church which still uses this building today. In 1865, Colonel John Hennepin organized an expedition to explore new lands east of Tampa Bay and discovered what would become Belle Glade Townsite on November 6th while traveling through Hillsborough County on his horseback scout mission . On November 10th following his discovery, Hennepin named this area "BelleGlades" after himself (and not Robertson). Belle Glade quickly grew into a large settlement with about 100 residents by 1868 when two brothers – JT & UI Thornton – bought 1/4 acreof land north of Alamo for $75 per acre . They developed it into one of Floridas most important agricultural communities with fruit orchards, cotton plantations (for local textile mills), cattle stations (the first white settlements west of Mobile), dairy farms (today’s popular tourist destinations including charming downtown streets like Coral Gables), sawmills (producing rough lumber for homespun fabrics), coal mines (developed to supply Chicago with coal during World War I) , hotels/motels/restaurants/grains stores etc., giving rise to many names such as "Stuart Country", "The Villages", or simply "BelleGlades". JT Thornton also started what would eventually be one of Florida’s largest newspapers - The Daily Herald - in Belle Glade soon after its founding date in 1870 irtaining much local lore about this period until well into our present day ! In 1916 developer Harry Cummings developed 15 acres adjoining Alamo Village which becameknown as Ponte Vedra Beach . This post office operated from 1919 until 1959 when it was moved inland to serve as an annex for Guntersville postal station . After Hurricane Andrew destroyed parts of Ponte Vedra Beach late 1990s developers began developing another beachfront enclave called Sunrise Key adjacentto modern day Crystal City just off US-1A This area now includes some high-end condominiums along Sunrise Boulevard administered by Suncoast Properties Management LLC

In 1947, Belle Glades incorporated as a city and began to grow rapidly as an upscale commuter town for south central Miami-Dade County onFlorida's "Sunshine State". By 1959, all but two ofthe original homes from when BelleGladereceived their current addresses had been built and development continued unabated until the early 2000s when newhigh-rise condominium projects popped up throughout downtownMiami replacing many older homes that had been abandoned duringMiamis rapid postwar growth period."
