In the late 1940s, when Seth's son Dick arrived in town, he set about renovating the old school building on State Street into a coffee house. The business quickly grew successful and Dick decided to keep things simple - only sell coffee. Over time, Dick developed more than just a retail store; he also became an exponent of sourcing local beans from talented roasters across Delaware.
