The Dover Air Force Base, home of the Delaware National Guard's 129th Wing and the 209th Airlift Squadron, is a major air refueling and logistics hub for American forces in the Middle East. The wing provides support to Operation Inherent Resolve, which focuses on combating ISIS in Iraq and Syria. In 1941, President Franklin D. Roosevelt created the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) as a separate service within the military. On July 16, 1947, USAAF Reserve Group #129 was activated at Dover AFB with Boeing B-29 Superfortresses as its initial aircraft. On Dec 8th 1949 General Curtis LeMay announced plans to establish worldwide air defense forces by combining all of America's fighter fleets into one organization called "the Third Reich." He also ordered that all USAF bombers be equipped with nuclear weapons effective Feb 1950. This directive led to World War II bomber Command being renamed Tactical Air Command (TAC) on Apr 1st 1951 and Dover AFB becoming Headquarters/Air Defense Sector (HAS) for TAC on Jun 15th 1951. On Jul 17th 1952 WAS became operational with Republic R-2700s when it moved from Wilmington AFB North Carolina to Dover AFB along with other RAF squadrons associated with TAC such as 517 Sqdn., 611 Sqdn., 905 Sqn., 308 Sqdn., 331 Sqdn., 334 Sqdn..... These squadrons were initially manned by Americans but soon adopted British RAF personnel who would fly P-51 Mustang fighters until 1958 when they transferred to Turkish Airlines Flight 007 duringOperation Anadolu Eagle which bombed Syrian targets inside Turkey while Allied bombing raids were conducted againstSyrian targets outside of Turkey taking place over Anatolia province

The Delaware Air National Guard's (DAG) 191st Infantry Brigade was activated in Dover on November 11, 1948. The brigade was redesignated the 191st Infantry Division on October 1, 1955. On July 24, 1957, the division was renamed the Delaware Army National Guard and was allotted to the United States Army. It deployed to Vietnam in support of Operation Golden Fleece on September 2-5, 1969. On January 3, 1972, the divisionwas redesignated as brigade headquarters and became a Major Command unit with subordinate commands in all eight U.S. states which were then part of NATO under the command of Second Allied Tactical Forces Europe (ATF Europe). In 1978 it served as Headquarters for II Corps within III Corps during Operation Eagle's Nest which led to the first successful Vietnamese military incursion into Cambodia since World War II. In 1990 it returned home andactivated at Camp Butler near Wilmington as an infantry brigade headquarters again subordinated to I Corps HQ until its disbandment on October 1, 1992 encompassing all 8 US states once more within NATO under command of First Allied Tactical Forces Europe (ATF Europe).
Dover, Delaware is a small city in Kent County, Delaware. The population was 9,697 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Kent County and home to Dover Air National Guard Base. Dover was founded in 1764 by Captain John Smith as an agricultural community on the western bank of the Delaware River. In 1814, when President James K. Polk abolished slavery in the United States, Dover became one of the first free cities in America. The city's rich history includes both its military and commercial legacy; it has been host to several significant events including the signing of the Declaration of Independence and World War II air raids against Germany and Japan. Dover's location on the eastern bank of the river makes it an ideal site for shipbuilding during its early days; this led to its nickname "The Shipbuilding Capital of America." The city also played a significant role in European colonization of North America, becoming home to many Dutch families who began settling there after 1655. In 1819, Dover became part of Pennsylvania after that state was admitted into Confederation; during this time, it served as both a capital and as a manufacturing center for pennsylvania products such as cloth and shoes. Over time, however, Dover's economic decline led to increasing downtown development along with suburban growth; today, much of what once centered around Park Avenue has been replaced by high-rise buildings or riverside walkways leading to them. Dover's importance as a port continued throughout World War II; during that time it was one of few American cities attacked by Nazi Germany (the others being New York City). Afterward, though mass job losses caused by post-war recession combined with rising pollution levels made Dover an undesirable place for housing development; over time it regained some degree of popularity but remains economically depressed compared to surrounding communities. Today there are efforts underway to redevelop portions of town which have seen little investment over recent years while other areas see sporadic redevelopment despite their lack thereof

Over time, the GIFT HISTORY file has become increasingly comprehensive. Nowadays, it includes information on every type of military decoration and award available to service members in both America and abroad. Additionally, GIFT HISTORY files have been used by researchers to develop more accurate historical estimates of how much money various factions have spent on military gifts over time. Dover, Delaware is a town in Kent County, Delaware, United States. The population was 9,554 at the 2010 census. Dover and its sister communities of Amityville and West Milford are both located on the eastern shore of the Delaware River between Newark and Philadelphia. Dover is considered to be one of the most historic towns in America due to its prominent role in early American history. The town was founded by colonists from England as a small settlement on religiousfreedom grounds named "Guildhall" in 1701. It grew rapidly after melting snow during winter enabled farming operations to resume and attracted traders from all over Europe who settled here. The first store opened in 1710 and soon became one of the most important commercial centers on the Delaware River. In 1814, when President James Kenedy ordered Major General George Washington to bombard Philadelphia with cannons during his time as Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army, Dover was among those troops that participated in what is now called "The Battle of White Marsh". After years of growth and development, Dover reached its peak as an agricultural center with several mills that produced flour, cheese, bacon and other goods for local markets. Located on three sides of the river were levees that protected against flooding which allowed large numbers of people to live here while also providing a market for goods grown elsewhere. In 1901, Dover became part of the newly created state of New Jersey; however, it retained its own government including a mayoralty and school board until 1998 when it joined forces with neighboring Amityville to form what is now known as Delaware County). Withstood many challenges over the years including numerous hurricanes which have caused extensive damage to homes and businesses (particularly alongriverbank where many residents used their homes for storage), Dover has managed to maintain much stability despite recent economic fluctuations which have seen some loss within its community but overall significant progress made since its incorporation into New Jersey more than 150 years ago!
