In 1946, NAS North Island became Naval Air Station Jacksonville (NAVY). It would remain an important base until it closed its doors in 1997. Since its closure, NAS Jacksonville has been used for various purposes including training military personnel and civilians. It also hosts various events such as concerts and fireworks shows each year. One of NAVY's most famous products is their Humphrey Bogart Collection of artifacts from American servicemen who died during World War II. The collection is open to the public every day from 9am-4pm excepting holidays. Today, NAS Jacksonville remains an important hub for naval aviation activities in northeastern Florida and is also home to Squadron 521 (VP-8) which provides maritime patrol aircraft services over Key West waters

Torrington, Connecticut is a town in Tolland County, Connecticut, United States. The population was 9,031 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Hartford–Westfield Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settlers in what is now Torrington were people who came overland from New England during the early 17th century. In 1684, Captain John Smith and his men traveled through the area and named it after the town of Tranter in Northumberland County, England. In 1801, Congress granted to Torrington and surrounding townships (including modern-day Bridgeport) land comprising all or part of three square miles (10 km²). This grant was designed to provide for common schools and other public purposes. The land was divided into lots and sold to individual settlers. Torrington's first store opened in 1806 on Main Street. During the American Civil War, most residents sided with the Union side; however, a few residents fought for Confederate forces under General Nathan Bedford Forrest. In 1865, following the war's end, many Torringtons returned to their homes once again after Reconstruction began in America. By 1870, there were 428 inhabitants living in Torrington proper; by 1920 this had increased to 1,859 people living within its limits only – half of whom lived outside its boundaries due to incorporation into larger townships or communities such as Bridgeport or Madisonville (now Madison). The last post office closed on September 15th 1960; local delivery services continued until that date by contracted companies including National Ground Service Company which delivered groceries and other items directly to local residences until 1978 when all deliveries became automated via GPS/email/phone systems operated by Amazon USA Inc..
