According to the 2010 census, majorities of residents are white (93%), black (3%), Hispanic (1%), Asian (0%, none), or American Indian/Alaska Native (0%). There are also sizable minority groups such as refugees and immigrants from Africa and Latin America who make up 6% and 2% of residents respectively. The original inhabitants were small farmers who grew corn, beans, pumpkins and other vegetables for local consumption; later some manufactured goods were produced such as shoes and hats but most activity centred around agriculture until after World War II when many manufacturing jobs moved away following technological advances in allied countries like Germany and Japan. Not only did Norwich enjoy growth throughout this period but also during one particular time period there was an astounding 85% increase in housing prices! This incredible result can be largely attributed to two factors: Firstly by creating an environment where developers could see potentialrethinks for houses that they wouldn’t have considered before; secondly by offering investment opportunities that weren’t available elsewhere due to restrictive zoning laws at the time).
