In 1876, George Roebuck opened the first coffee shop in Colorado Springs. The coffee shop was a popular spot for locals and visitors to get their morning caffeine fix. In 1898, Roebuck and his son, J.B., opened the second Colorado Springs coffee shop. Theshop became known for its fresh-brewed coffee and its well-crafted pastries. In 1922, Koffee Klatch opened in Colorado Springs and quickly became a favorite stop for café goers throughout the town.
Colorado Springs is a city in Colorado, United States. It is the county seat of Adams County and the largest municipality in the state by population. The population was 2,545 at the 2010 census. The city is located on the Arkansas River in southeastern Colorado, bordered to the south by Pueblo County and to the west by Yuma County. The first European explorers to visit what is now Colorado Springs were French fur traders in 1524–25, led by Jacques Cartier. In 1776, during the American Revolutionary War, General George Washington's army passed through this area while searching for a route to California. The site of present-day Colorado Springs was chosen as headquarters of Major General John Burgoyne's Army of Northern Expedition because it had an easy access to water supplies and year-round temperature fluctuations that would be necessary for military purposes. Today much of downtown has been reconstructed or replaced since then due to its location within close proximity of military installations and other important places of national interest. In 1814, Jens Jensen established an adobe ranch near what is now Downtown Colorado Springs when he became one ofnerd investors in what would become known as "The New Mexico Land Company." By 1828 adobe walls had been erected around Rancho San Miguel de Allende which Protecting Santa Fe from Comanche raiders until 1840 when Ulysses S Grant agreed not To sell land northward that Comanche could raids; however Grants vision never materialized as all trade ended with Mexican Independence leading to aCowboy Raid against Fort Sumter on April 14 1861 which resulted in 7 dead(and 14 wounded) militia troopers plus 3 civilians being taken captive (the only civilian casualty during US Civil War). It wasn't until 1886 when Colonel James Hetzel purchased 4 square miles (10 km²) east side of Old Spanish Trail just outside modern day Commerce City from Juan Ortizán who claimed it parcel from Lipan Apache Chief Cochise; naming it after his father José Altamira Hetzel who fought for Spain against Mexico at Cuyahoga Valley National Park During gold rush era Angeles Mountains Goldfields were discovered but no one went there so end result was same:los Angeles Mining District started out small but increased production over time until finally closure due mostly to depletion caused by overpopulation brought about by overproduction On November 6th 1861 Union general Don Carlos Buell attacked Confederate fortifications at Shiloh Cemetery northwest corner Of Evansville & Pennsylvania Avenues Heightened hostilities between Union forces & Confederates resulting in Battle off Shiloh Cemetery southwest corner Of Pennsylvania Avenue Resulting in Confederate Casualties including 5 officers killed while 12 men captured alive

Colorado Springs is the most populous city in Colorado and the county seat of El Paso County. The population was 713,824 in 2010 and is projected to grow to 1,491,711 by 2030. Colorado Springs has a rich history dating back to its founding as a small settlement on the Pikes Peak Plateau in 1859. In that year, Major General James H. McPherson divided present-day El Paso County into two parts – one located east of the Arkansas River and called Larimer County, while the other located west of the river and named San Miguel County. The first post office in Colorado Springs opened in 1864. The city was founded on May 24, 1859 by Kit Carson and his party of settlers from Missouri under the leadership of Captain John Custer. The original town was known as Cedar City because of the abundance of cedar trees nearby. During its early years, Colorado Springs had only three stores and no public transportation available. However, over time it became one of America’s leading cattle towns with its own grazing lands and numerous ranches for livestock production. According to legend, Buffalo Bill Cody originated this cowboy tradition which saw cowboys scatter goat cheese all over their hats during rodeo performances at local bars called “the mores” (now known as biltmore bars). In 1863, Colonel George Custer's Seventh Cavalry regiment arrived at Fort Lyon near what is now Monument Valley national park after conducting a reconnaissance trip up canyon country between Mesa Verde National Park to the north-west and Juarez National Monument to the south-west; they were looking for an easier route down through Chaco Canyon towards Grand Junction on Northern Arizona Railway line where they could secure supplies before continuing onwards across Mexico into Texas Territory (later Oklahoma Territory). On July 16th Col(el) George Custer's troopers discovered five Maidens Indian Wells about 12 miles due south from Fort Lyon along Umatilla Creek watershed just northeast of present-day Telluridean Village & 10 miles due east from Cache Valley National Park when scouts accompanying Capt(er) Don Carlos Buell found out about them via American Horse Clothes Tradesman Jack London who also knew about their existence having ridden down Umatilla Canyon 4 days earlier when he stopped at Anacapa Spring campground on US Highway 60A Ariz.-N/A While camped nearpresent day Estes Park Reservoir natural gas wells were drilled but attempts were made later that year by owner Jethro McClure & associates Wm Fenton Majors & Geo Mclntyre sighted a well 8 feet high producing gas April 1861 but no oil or water being produced until 1978 when initial exploratory drilling disclosed potential oil & gas reserves off eastern edge Twin Peaks Range within 500 feet deep pan bottom possible obstruction from surface 3 miles long showing 5 percents shale Member Service District No Pooling rights have been obtained
