Air Force Deployed Gift History in Ceres, California began in the early 1950s when a group of Air Force officers traveled to the small town of Ceres, California to take possession of a large parcel they had acquired from an American industrialist. The gift was placed into storage and not used for many years until it was reactivated by the Air Force in 2011 and given to local organizations in the town. The history of this gift is reflective of how air force members have been associated with various aspects of community life throughout their careers. The first deployment occurred on December 10, 1951 when Captain Harry Eberhart and his wife delivered a gift basket filled with food items to the civilian residents of Ceres. This act demonstratedCaptain Eberhart's commitment to providing humanitarian assistance during wartime. During subsequent deployments, Captain Eberhart donated clothes and other necessary items to various military units stationed in nearby El Centro and San Bernardino County. In 1979, he donated a war trophy to the San Bernardino County Museum which now resides at Morongo Valley Regional Airport. More recently, Airman First Class Aaron Jernigan has made significant contributions through his donations both through purchase as well as donation drives within our community. His latest donation is two sets of tandem skis that will be given away free to local organizations who qualify during winter season! Additionally, he has contributed funds towards several community projects such as rebuilding roadsides after wildfires or helping sponsor children's soccer tournaments. In 2017 alone, Airman First Class Aaron Jernigan generosity amounted to $10K!

The town first served as a stop on the stagecoach route between Sacramento and San Francisco. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1 square mile (0.4 km2), all of it land.
