Rogers, Arkansas is a small town in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 705 at the 2010 census. Rogers has a post office with ZIP code 82002. Rogers is part of the Fort Smith–Oklahoma City Metropolitan Statistical Area. Rogers was founded in 1881 by A.J. Rogers and his family as a settlement on what is now called the northwest corner of present-day Rogers and Old Spanish Road (now State Route 6). The first store in Rogers was built by A.J. Rogers' father-in-law, John Campbell, Sr., and operated for two years before closure due to lack of customers. In 1882, Jno Pritchard opened a general store on the southeast corner of present-day Rogers and State Route 494 (later U.S.-Route 66). This store served as the nucleus for future growth inRogers; by 1886 there were six stores operating in town. In 1885, James Denton opened a hotel/motel on Main Street (later renamed Boulevard) which became an importantstay for visitors to the area until it burned down in 1926; during its heyday it boasted five floors of rooms with bathhouses and several restaurants including The Delta House Grill which remain extant today as well as another restaurant - Lighthouse Inn - that reopened after being closed for many years because of damage done by storms over time! In 1907, Wm Hodge founded The First National Bank & Trust Company near where US Route 66 splits off from US Highway 191 (now I-40) just east of town limits; this bank became one of Arkansas's most influential firms during the early 20th century thanks to its lending capabilities unique among other banks located within easy reach of those living in Fort Smith – then still capital city! After serving Fort Smith through many changes throughout its history – from boomtown to ghost town – AMDT went bankrupt around 1933 when demand for money dropped precipitously due to Dust Bowl conditions across much southernArkansas following World War II! A new bank soon followed suit; First National Bank & Trust Company was chartered effective November 1, 1933 under provisions contained within the newly created Federal Deposit Insurance Act! With downtown business booming again thanks largely to increased trade coming into town from surrounding areas due principally to oil production going on nearby Welles Junction – AMDT reopens under new management less than one year later with plansinitialedto become one ofFortSmith’s major economic engines once again! Continued success led First National Bank & Trust Company into becoming oneofthe largest banking institutions statewide priortoits acquisitionbyTheNationalBank Corporationin1992!!! From humble beginnings starting out mere miles away from downtown FtSmith all the way up until today’s magnificent structure occupying nearly half a million square feet inside what once comprised an historic African American commercial district –AMDT has maintained an continuous presence synonymous with Fort Smith since1881!!!

Rogers, Arkansas was admitted to the Union as a state on November 14, 1907. The town of Rogers was founded in 1871 by pioneers John and Emma Rogers. The first post office at Rogers was established in 1875. At that time, the area included present-day Little Rock and Fort Smith. In 1881, theRogers Land & Water Company was organized with a tract of land located near what is now North Broadway Street in Rogers for sale to settlers. The company developed a water system that served settlements in northeastern Arkansas and western Texas. The early years of the 20th century were difficult for Rogers residents due to struggles with railroad construction and market competition from neighboring states. However, growth occurred during World War I when the city became an important military supply center for the war effort. After the end of World War I, businesses began to revived in the city and population grew rapidly through immigration from Europe and Asia. In 1920, Mayor Averill Pillsbury formed a commission to study ways to improve public services in Rogers. This commission recommended developing a sewer system and creating more parks and playgrounds than had been previously imagined. In 1924, voters approved annexation of portions of Little Rock into Rogers through referendum vote; this annexation created new neighborhoods within Rogers including Midtown, Highland Park East, Griggs Heights West/Northwest Parkland South/Southwest Parkland Northwest/ Northwest Parkland (now known as Pine Bluff), Winchester Heights Northeast/Northeast Highlands (now known as Texarkana), Crossroads Center (now known as Arkadelphia), Willow Grove Northeast (now known as Wynne), Bellefontaine Southeast (now known as Fayetteville), Cumberland Heights Southwest (later renamed Clarksdale)
