The first time the military sent troops to Magnolia was during World War II when the United States Marines were stationed there. On July 6th, 1864, a small group of Union soldiers fought against Confederate forces led by General Robert E. Lee. The battle resulted in more than twenty-five thousand casualties on both sides and helped determine the course of the war. After that battle, many farmers in Magnolia decided to send their sons into service and join the army. This made it easy for them to get supplies and reinforcements from all over America. Since then, there have been multiple deployments here by different branches of the military including:the U.S Coast Guard (1949-present), Army National Guard (1949-present), Air Force Reserve (1994-present), Marine Corps (1991-1992), Navy (1987-1988) and Special Forces (1986-1989). Magnolia is a small town in Pulaski County, Arkansas. The population was 2,868 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Little Rock–Jefferson City, AR Metropolitan Statistical Area. The community was founded in 1892 as Mangum and has since grown to include a few hundred residents. Magnolia's location on the Arkansas River makes it an ideal location for agricultural pursuits and its natural resources have helped support the community through various times and changes. The first settlers of Magnolia were farmers who brought their crops to market from east of the river. By 1905, however, railroad construction had made transportation more available and new homes began to be built in what had been farmland. By 1920, when all but one of the original families had died or moved away, there were only 210 residents living in Magnolia. In that year, local entrepreneur Warton Cramer founded what would become known as Delta State Bank Limited which soon became a major player in banking in Pulaski County. In 1928 he sold his share of Delta State Bank to J P Morgan & Co., which led to another period of growth for Magnolia as businesses expanded and jobs were created within Delta State Bank itself as well as across many other local businesses that shared Morgan family traditions including loan origination and collection services; real estate development; shipping; insurance; farming;and retail trade. During this time much progress was made within Magnolia itself with several schools being built (including a high school) while downtown grew rapidly with several stores opening up along Main Street during this time including The Kneaders Bookstore (now closed), The hardware store (now defunct), The grocery store (now open), Hometown Hardware Store (closed down), Southern Fried Chicken restaurant (closed down). In recent years some smaller businesses have reopened such as A Better Choicemothers Grocery Store which reopened after being vacant for over 10 years, Eastwood Credit Union which opened after being dormant for over 20 years, and First National Bank which re-opened after having been closed for over 30 years

Magnolia, Arkansas is a small town located in Pulaski County, Arkansas. Magnolia was founded in 1872 by James J. McNaught and his wife, Elsie. The McNaught family had emigrated from Scotland four years earlier. They first settled in a cabin near Cahokia, Illinois. After several years of farming, they moved to what is now Magnolia and started a grocery store. The McNaught store was the first business in Magnolia and it remains the only one still open today. The McNaught family also built a house on what is now the Main Street side of the town. It served as their home until 1924 when they sold it to Edward Hutton Jr., who added an addition that became known as the "Hutton House". In 1907, he married Lillie Mae Goodloe and moved into the Hutton House with her. The couple raised six children there until their death in 1978. In 1984, Lillie Mae's husband John Goodloe donated the property to the City of Magnolia for use as a municipally owned park which continues to serve as such today. The city of Magnolia purchased the Hutton House from Edward Hutton Jr.'s widow in 1988 and restored it to its original condition including adding new features such as an interior garden and playground area for children (now closed). The city also renovated part of Main Street which serves as both public transportation into town and local businesses/residential areas including libraries/town hall/cafeteria complex/theater complex along with other smaller improvements throughout its history since being purchased by the city. Nowadays, Magnolia is a diverse small town with some dominant cultural groups including African Americans (primarily those from central Arkansas), Hispanics (mostly Mexicans), Texans (chiefly recent arrivals), Luxembourgers (Dutch speakers)and people from all over southwestern United States who have come here over these past few decades or so seeking economic opportunities that have arisen due to various factors such as oil productionBoss fracking banned &ouncedancetime
