Harrison is a small town in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 1,521 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Little Rock–Bossier City Metropolitan Statistical Area. The Harrison community was founded by John and Nancy Harrison on November 12, 1907. They named their new town after their father-in-law, General Ambrose Easley, who had been a major general in the Confederate Army during the American Civil War. The original store and post office were located on Church Street. In 1911, they built a schoolhouse on North Main Street and renamed it Harrison High School. In 1912, they constructed a grocery store and called it the Thompson Store. The first post office was established in Harrison on December 5th of that year by J. Tubb with Pemberton as his secretary; it operated until 1917 when it was moved to Fort Smith to be closer to military activities there. In 1925, Harry Ahern opened the first frame house in what is now precincts B & C of Harrisontown (now portions of Precincts A & B). He became one of its early residents and continued to live there until his death in 1984."

It is part of the Little Rock–North Little Rock–Conway Metropolitan Statistical Area. Harrison was founded by pioneers in 1881. A post office called Harrison was established in 1882, and remained in operation until 1907. The community was named after Major General George Washington Harrison (1784-1837), an officer in the American Revolutionary War and commander of U.S. forces in West India Company operations during the Napoleonic Wars. The first store built on the site of present-day Harrison opened on October 24, 1881, when Wm Riddle & Sons opened up a general mercantile business with two stores and $1,000 worth of merchandise from New Mexico Territory. That same year saw another store opening up at what is now US Route 72 east of town; it became known as Brown's Store and operated for about 25 years before being taken over by Patton's Drugstore chain which continued to operate there until 1977 when it closed its doors for good due to lack of interest from local residents. Harrison was founded in 1871 by James Fenton and his brother, John. The town offered a post office, school, and Methodist Church. In 1907, the Harrison School District was created and Harrison became its own municipality. In 1923, the Arkansas General Assembly designated Harrison as the seat of Little Rock County.
