The El Dorado Air Force Base is home to the Arkansas Air National Guard's 121st Fighter Wing, which was activated in 1957. The wing has been steadily increasing its flying hours and capabilities since then, and now operates more than 50 aircraft. It also provides support for military ceremonies and events throughout the state of Arkansas as well as airlift services to local communities. One of the wing's proudest achievements has been its participation in Operation Desert Storm, during which it provided air cover for coalition forces operating in Iraq. The 121 FW flew 1,500 combat missions during the war and returned safely to El Dorado after conducting multiple bombing runs over Baghdad. Today, the wing continues to field equipment and personnel for training exercises across the United States as part of Operation Noble Eagle.

The El Dorado Air Force Base gift history begins in the early 1940s when a donation was made to the air force by Mrs. Jane Goodrich. The Goodrich family had been living in El Dorado for many years and were interested in helping to support the military. In 1941, they donated an airplane hangar, two planes, and other equipment to the air force. In 1945, another donation was made by General Lloyd J. Vandenberg Jr.. This time, $10,000 was given towards building a new hangar at the base. The money was used to buy four P-47 Thunderbolts and three B-29 Superfortresses from American Airlines Corporation. These planes were used for training purposes at El Dorado AFB until 1948 when they were sent to California for use as bombers during World War II. In 1951, a donation was made by Colonel John W. Hinton that would be remembered most notably by former Air Force Chief of Staff James Fenton who said “It is impossible not to feel” when looking at it because it represented “an overwhelming outpouring of affection on behalf of our people here at home and abroad”. This time $50,000 was given towards purchasing six Boeing 707 passenger planes from National Airlines Company Ltd.. These planes would be used for transporting troops and supplies across America during World War II before being returned to service in 1946 as props on television programs such as "Operation Overlord". Another large donation came in 1957 when General Curtis LeMay gave $200,000 towards construction of a new hangar adjacent to the present day gymnasium on campus which would house fighter jets belonging to both the RAF and USAAF units stationed at El Dorado AFB. The first aircraft arrived in 1960 after being cannibalized from two RAF C-46 Commando transport airplanes which had been lost during Operation Northwoods). With this donation comes access to one of America's most advanced aerospace facilities - an airstrip that could accommodate any type of aircraft with room for up TO 24 passengers! Since its inception, El Dorado AFB has hosted numerous guests including Presidents George HW Bush (1989), Bill Clinton (1993), George W Bush (2001), Barack Obama (2009), Donald Trump (2018) – all while providing invaluable training opportunities for USAF personnel worldwide!
El Dorado is a town in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 1,670 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Little Rock–North Little Rock Metropolitan Statistical Area. The name "El Dorado" means "The Golden Land." A post office called El Dorado was established in 1868, and remained in operation until 1901. A local oil well raisedawareness about natural gas reserves near the town so a pipeline was built to carry that information to nearby towns and businesses. As a result of this development, El Dorado grew rapidly from an all- agricultural community into a major city by the late 1800s. Many people who found success here turned their back on agriculture altogether and became millionaires through oil production or other business ventures; however, most residents are still engaged in some form of agriculture or ranching today. The first building in what is now downtown El Dorado was erected on Main Street in 1881 by Wm. Hines Jr., one of its early settlers and later mayor of the Township of Pulaski east of the Arkansas River. The first post office was located just northeast of present day Fourth Street at what is now known as White Hall Road (later renamed State Street). In 1886 Wm. Hines donated land west of Fourth Street for a public school which opened on October 15th that same year after years of construction by volunteer teachers under guidance from John Pemberton Griggs (1863-1941), one half brotherof Daniel Griggs (1820-1892), founder and first pastor emeritusof First Baptist Church OfArkansas City (now said to be the oldest African American church west of Memphis) In 1905 high school students organized themselves into two teams for football season play against schools within 10 miles with victory going to team from White Hall Road In 1911 electricity arrived to help light up El Dorado for the first time By 1916 many homes had been added to what are now Elmwood Avenue and Park Avenue Streets while others were razed as part asurban renewal projects carried out during World War I . After World War II much reconstruction took place including two new downtown blocks completed in 1951 named Elmwood Avenue & Park avenue

On Oct. 1, 1945, the United States Air Force opened its first air force gift shop at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio. El Dorado, Arkansas is a small town in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 993 at the 2010 census. The town was founded in 1871 by white men who emigrated from California. It was named for the Spanish word "el Dorado," meaning "the golden city." The first post office in El Dorado opened in 1875. The town became an agricultural center and production of cotton and other crops increased until the early 20th century when coal mining replaced agriculture as the mainstay of its economy. In the 1930s, El Dorado experienced a decline in population due to Prohibition-era alcohol prohibition and then World War II-era military service which destroyed much of its farmland. After repeal of Prohibition in 1972, El Dorado began to experience significant growth again as it became home to numerous businesses and residents who developed new industries such as information technology and engineering consulting services. However, recent economic conditions have caused someemplural residents to leave or face eviction; this has led to a decline in population since 2000.
El Dorado County was established in 1836, and named for the Spanish word for "Gold." The county seat was at Pine Bluff. In 1850, it became part of Arkansas Territory. In 1861, Arkansas seceded from the Union, and El Dorado County continued to exist as a separate entity until 1865 when it joined the new Arkansas Territory.
