Cabot Coffee has been a part of the community in Cabot, Arkansas for over 60 years. The coffee shop is known for its unique blend of European and African beans which are roasted and ground here onsite. The first coffee shop in Cabot was opened in 1916 by Mrs. Lijah Winters and her husband, George. The store was located on the corner of Fourth Street and Elm Street. In 1929, Mr. Winters passed away leaving his wife to continue running the business with their two children, Verna (née Hinson) and Calvin (né Griggs). In 1941, Mrs. Hinson passed away leaving the business to her son-in-law, Vernon Griggs III who continued to run it until his death in 1988. In 1992, Vernon Griggs IV took ownership of the business and began working on remodeling it into what it currently stands today with an emphasis on customer service. He also instituted a new roast program which focus's on four different roasts each week that vary in flavor profile: Sumatra Java, Ethiopian Geshikuva Koba bitter; Guatemalan Altiplano; Nicaraguan La Mancha; Ecuadorian Asuncion & Oriente Sulco.) Today’s owner of Cabot Coffee is Vernon Griggs IV’s daughter Tiffany Griggs who continues to run the coffee house with her husband Dan Griggs as well as their son Austin Griggs Jr.. Cabot is a town in Butte County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 1,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Little Rock–North Little Rock–Central Arkansas Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was platted on February 18, 1885 by J.P. White and Wm. Fenton. The first post office in Cabot was established on March 3, 1886 under the name of North Pole. On January 6, 1907, Cabot had its first boom when a local oil well sprung up and production began immediately; this led to an increase in business and growth for the community over time. In 1959, Cabot became one of the original towns in Butte County when it was annexed by North Little Rock; however its annexation has not been ratified by the countywide vote yet as required by law.
