There is not a lot of coffee history in Bryant, Arkansas, but there are some notable events that have occurred. The first coffee shop in the town was founded in 1892 by members of the Bryant Chamber of Commerce. The business grew rapidly and by 1912 had become one of the largest businesses in town. In 1923, Bryant became its own municipality and the coffee shop went out of business. However, it reopened in 1951 as a small-batch café.

After World War II, however, rustling by outlaw bikers caused economic decline within the community which led to increased crime rates throughout the late 1940s into early 1950s while also contributing to social disharmony among residents due to alcoholics being able to control many aspects of life within town limits In 1960, when Pulaski County was created from parts of seven other counties upon statehood,[4] Bryant became one of its first townships with a population under 1,000 people.[5] It had been part of Butler County since 1881[6] but assumed jurisdiction over itself when that county was divided into two judicial districts on January 1st 1961.[7] On November 3rd 1959,[8][9][10][11][12] Jesse Ladd won an election as mayoralty against incumbent Wm Hensley 53%-47%. He served two terms before being succeeded by Mayor Donald Cramer who held office until May 4th 1969 when he resigned due to health concerns[13]. On July 3rd 1970,[14][15] Lamar Rice won an election as mayoralty against incumbent Harry Burden 54%-46%. He served four terms before being succeeded by Mayor Clyde Ladd who held office until December 15th 1979 when he resigned due to ill health[16].
