Benton coffee history goes back to the 1800s when Benton was founded as a town in western Arkansas. The first recorded cup of coffee was made by a man named John Coffee in 1819. In 1862, General Abraham Lincoln visited Benton and ordered the military to conduct an investigation into the city's coffeehouses which led to their closure. However, this didn't stop locals from drinking coffee at various locations throughout the year. In 1865, a group of businessmen from Benton pooled money and purchased a mill that ground beans for local brewing companies. This allowed for better quality beans and helped revive the city's caffeine industry. Over time, different brewers started making their own products and by 1890, there were over 10 different brands of Benton coffee available on store shelves.
Benton, Arkansas is a small town in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 1,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Little Rock–North Little Rock–Arlington metropolitan area. Benton was platted in 1883 and named for General John A. Benton. The first post office in Benton was established on December 12, 1883, by order of the Arkansas Territorial Governor J. W. Tipton. The name for the town changed to Benton on July 10, 1907 due to confusion with another community called "Benton". The present day Benton is located on US Route 6 north of Searcy and east of Fort Smith; it takes its name from General John A. Benton who led American forces during the Mexican-American War and as such is often considered as being in honor of him specifically or representatively. In 1901 a new cotton gin was built west of town by Simeon Ladd & Sons which became one of the largest cotton gin operations in America at that time; it still operates today as a private business known as Ladd Cotton Gin Incorporated (Ladd GIN). In 1905 an electric street light system was installed throughout town resulting in increased visibility during daylight hours when prior to that there had been little or no lighting at all within most parts of town save for a few scattered homes/businesses situated around central square block which also served as occasional retail outlets during midday hrs only providing limited light service until about 1930 when city fathers decided that all nightlighting would be necessary for public safety purposes and institutedstreetlights throughout entire municipality effective October 1st 1930 On July 15th 1912 local citizens organized their own fire department which became operational under captain C H Garrison with membership limited to men only with inaugural meeting held at high school gymnasium; this department continues today as Citizens Fire Department (CFD) . Several other smaller agencies were also formed over time including water company (1914), cemetery (1920), bank (1930), medical examiner's office (1940), andanger management hotline (1984). All these organizations are still active and functioning today including current incarnation - Citizen’s Police Department

Benton, Arkansas is a small town located in the United States of America. The population was 7,811 at the 2010 census. Benton is part of the Little Rock–Jackson County, Arkansas Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first people to live in Benton were the Hensley family who moved from Tennessee around 1847. They founded a cotton plantation and raised hogs and cattle on their property. In 1865, John W. Henson purchased the plantation from the Hensleys and named it Benton after his father-in-law's home state, Virginia. The community slowly grew as business owners arrived to bring their families and businesses to Benton. By 1890, all but one of the original residents had departed for other parts of Arkansas or rural Missouri because of its favorable location along Interstate 40 and easy access to transportation. In 1925, when I-40 was constructed through central Arkansas, Benton became an important interchange for motorists traveling north and southbound on I-40 Alternate which passed through Little Rock then downriver towards Jefferson City before turning eastward again near Arkadelphia. Today Route 66 overlaps with US 61 Business (Old US 61) just west of downtown while Loop Road connects Old US 61 with downtown via bypasses both north and south of Main Street bridge over Loop Road). On November 15th 1909 a group of men led by C A White organized what would become known as "The Mountain Boys" Expedition into North Central Texas in search of new land for settlers in what is now Oklahoma Territory boundary lines including present day Haskell County line between Oklahoma State University campus east side and Canadian River Valley west side; this area later became Tulsa County historic region OH 27 - OK 146 boundary line due to increased settlement in that area during late 19th century by farmers coming out from Kansas Territory purchase land from Great Plains Indian tribes ceded by Mexico following American Civil War victory over Mexican forces
