In the early 1900s, Benton was a small town in Arkansas. The air force was established there in World War I and served as a significant part of the military during the 1920s and 1930s. Over time, the air force has become an important part of local culture and community life in Benton. In recent years, gifts from members of the air force have been a major source of support for local businesses and initiatives. The history of the Benton Air Force Base Gift History begins with World War I when it was founded in 1918 as a research station at what is now Fort Smith Army Air Field. During World War II, Benton AFB played an instrumental role in providing training for pilots and commanders of Allied aircraft. From 1942 to 1945, there were more than 1,500 personnel working at Benton AFB. When the Cold War began, the USAF grew rapidly and various installations were established around country including one at Muroc Army Airfield in Kern County, California which became known as "Benton's Foothills". It was here that General Curtis LeMay formulated his concept for strategic bombing which would play an integral role in US victory over Japan. The gift history at Muroc AFB includes many notable donations including two Boeing 727 jetliners donated by President Dwight D Eisenhower on behalf of his widow Eleanor Roosevelt on July 15th, 1953; as well as more than $130 million worth of new equipment and technology donated by various USAF installations throughout their careers- most notably Edwards AFB west coast headquarters where Lockheed Martin replaced Browning artillery pieces donated by San Diego Mayor Carl Yee after they were destroyed during WWII) An additional contribution to Muroc AFB's gift history came from General Denzil K divestiture hearings held before Congress following Operation Paperclip – Nazi Germany's attempt to bring Jews into America through Project Arrowhead). A total of 436 airplanes were transferred from NAFFT (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) to USAF custody at Muroc AFB between 1961-1966 alone! Benton is a small town in Webster County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 1,584 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Little Rock–North Little Rock–Arlington Metropolitan Statistical Area. Benton was named for General James H. Benton, an American general and brigadier general in the Union army during the American Civil War. Benton has a history that goes back to 1832 when settlers first arrived in what is now Benton. A post office was established there in 1833 and remained in operation until 1907. In 1881, a railroad line was built through Benton and it became a mining center because of its coal resources. The economy changed with the onset of World War I and since then, production of natural gas has been one of the mainstay businesses in Benton. The community developed as a heavily agricultural area until around 1930 when manufacturing began to take hold as well. Manufacturing included plastics and rubber products; metalworking including aluminum cans and sheetmetal; textiles such as cotton underwear; apparel chain stores such as JCPenney, Sears Roebuck & Co., Macy's Inc., JBL & Associates; food processing companies such as Smithfield Foods Inc.; paper mills including White Sands Paper Company (now known as New Mexico Pacific Mining Company) and Phelps Dodge Corporation; minor manufacturing activities also occurred: gunsmithing by Southeastern Arms Market; fabricated metal products by local foundries like Fitzgerald Machine Works and Electric Boat Products Corporation; services such as lawn care, car repair/maintenance, fishing supplies and home improvement items from local service providers like Home Depot Stores Inc., Lowe's Companies Inc., Menard's Supermarkets Inc.,National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC)) . The decline of manufacturing activity lead to increased joblessness among workers during the Great Recession which helped contribute to low levels of economic productivity within Benton Township itself while reducing tax revenue overall statewide In recent years however some new businesses have begun up in Bendon- these include: Sprouts Farmers Markets - opened on Veterans Day 2013 - focuses on fresh produce (including fruits/veggies); NorthwestArkansas Floor Care - opened about 5 months ago does floor cleaning services including waxing/mirroring furniture etc.; BBQ Grill Of America - started business last year serving up Texas style BBQ from their outdoor grill area complete with picnic tables Home Depot Stores inc.-owned store offers several large items like lumber, hardware, plumbing supplies etc.; menard's supermarketsinc.-owned store offers several large items like lumber, hardware, plumbing supplies etc.; National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC)) operates an NBC affiliate that provides programming throughout much of central Arkansas
Air Force deployed gift history dates back to the 1940s. During World War II, the United States Air Force was formed as a result of the National Defense Act of 1941. TheAAF was created to provide air support for American troops in Europe and North Africa. Today, the USAF remains one of America’s most important military services. It is responsible for providing more than 68,000 active duty members with their own aircraft and equipment; deploying more than 50,000 personnel worldwide; and supporting Operation Inherent Resolve, which is currently serving in Iraq and Syria. The USAF Gift History begins with World War II when General George Custer assigned Colonel John J. Pershing's 1st Cavalry Division to fly gifts to European servicemen fighting on behalf of Allied forces. In 1945, Major General Curtis LeMay organized a group called "The Gilded Cage" to distribute gifts from prominent Americans to service members stationed overseas during World War II. This initiative helped contribute to the morale of service members and promoted good will between different branches of the military. After World War II ended, various organizations were established within the USAF in order to manage Gifts given by civilians (e.g., The John F Kennedy Presidential Library). However, it wasn't until 1958 that Air Force Sergeant First Class James Ewing became involved in gifting within theAAF itself when he began giving small items such as cups or napkins at squadron functions across California. From then on, Sergeant Ewing would become known as “the father” of AFB Gift History because he kickstarted its development within Wing Headquarters-Air Combat Command (WACC) Squadron 515th Bombardment Wing (BG) at Offutt AFB near Omaha Nebraska! His flights throughout California continued until his death in 2003! Today Sergeant Ewing's legacy lives on through his son Jay who continues flyingsmaller gifts among unit commanders/staff at all major AF wings across America!

Benton, Arkansas is a small town located in Pulaski County, Arkansas. The population was 1,534 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Pulaski County. The town was founded in 1871 by settlers from Kentucky and Indiana who arrived on horseback. In 1932, Benton became an incorporated municipality. The city of Benton merged with the towns of LaGrange and Rogers in 1984 to become one municipality. Benton's rich history can be found in its many buildings and landmarks: the Old Courthouse (built 1872), Stephens Mill (1882), Lake Charles Inn (1905), Masonic Lodge #4 (1912), Benton High School (opened in 1909), and the Trinity Lutheran Church- Zion Chapel (built 1915). Many people from Benton have served in local, state, and national politics including Congressman Asa Hutchinson and Senators Tom Harkin and Bob Dole. One important event that took place during Benton's early years was the first organized rodeo event at Stephens Mill on July 8, 1871. Other events that helped create this small community include lumber drives for building homes during the 1890s, a general store opened by Wm Gentry in 1907, a post office established in 1908, a blacksmith shop opened by Jno Sledgehammer in 1911-12, as well as two football games played between local teams called "the White Caps" and "the Black Bears."
The town of Benton, Arkansas was founded in 1829 by General James K. Polk, who had been sent as a peace envoy to India. The town was named for General Polk's father-in-law, John Benton. The first post office in Benton was established in 1830. In 1835, the name of the town changed from "Benton" to "Bentonville". The first school in Benton was built in 1836. In 1840, the state of Arkansas organized and created a county within that same year for Benton County. That same year, the first courthouse was built in Bentonville. As time passed, more businesses and houses were erected and the population grew until it reached its peak around 1860 at which point it began to decline rapidly due to factors such as cotton production being shifted away from Arkansas to other states during the American Civil War. By 1870, there were only a few remaining residents left and by 1880 most of what remained had been destroyed by fire or war efforts. Today there are very few remnants of Bentonville including some surviving buildings from before 1840 as well as a small park located off Highway 202 near Interstate 40 that is open to the public every day from 9am until 6pm
