Arkadelphia, Arkansas is home to two of the most well-known and celebrated coffee roasters in the country. These coffee purveyors are Arkadelphia Coffee Roasters and Peet's Coffee & Tea. The town was founded in 1868 by John A. Peet, who named it after his friend and business partner Charles Fenton. Peet's Coffee & Tea has been serving up delicious cup of Joe since 1892, when their first location opened on Main Street. Over the years they've expanded their operations both inside and outside of Arkadelphia. Today they have more than 10 locations across the United States including one in London, England. But their biggest claim to fame may be their "Gourmet Awards" which have been given out annually to the best cafes in America for excellence in flavor, quality, service and atmosphere. The history of Gourmet Awards goes back to 1984 when Jack Schaefer became president of Jack Schaefer Coffee Company Incorporated (JSC). In that year he decided to give out a Gourmet Award each year at his company's annual meeting instead of just giving out sales awards like he had done in the past. The idea behind this change was to show appreciation not only to employees but also customers who were often considered as part of the "family" at JSC - something that was still largely unknown then or now. As time went on JSC grew larger and more complex so it became difficult for them alone to award a Gourmet Award specifically for Arkadelphia coffee beans because there could be multiple submissions from different roasters within JSC itself! It wasn't until 2001 that they finally succeeded with a Gourmet Award being dedicated exclusively to Arkadelphia coffee beans! Today there are over 100 recipients of the accolade with many coming from around the world! It is truly an honor for these establishments who receive this recognition - something that helps support local businesses while providing great tasting coffee every single time!

Arkadelphia, Arkansas is a city located in Pulaski County, Arkansas. The population was 34,886 at the 2010 census. Arkadelphia is the county seat of Pulaski County and the largest city in that county. It lies on the White River upstream from Little Rock and to the east of Fayetteville. The first settlement in what is now Arkadelphia was made by John Baptiste Chisum in 1819 as part of a wagon road connecting Little Rock with Fort Smith. Chisum named his new community after one of his family's three sons-in-law: David Ladd, who had settled near present day Bentonville; James McDowell, who had arrived in 1818 from Tennessee; and Thomas Harker, who had joined them two years earlier from Illinois. The town was first built on a bend in the White River where it flows into Little Rock. WhenArkadelphiawasestablished, it consisted only of a few logs house and 30 or 40 settlers were living there when it became a town on April 20, 1826. In 1830 local landholder Nicholas Gibbs donated 640 acres (250 hectares) to build what would become Arkadelphia Oval Park which includes an 11-acre (4-hectare) Lake Providence within its bounds today. The park also includes a historical marker commemorating the donation and erection of this park by Nicholas Gibbs himself on October 1st 1830 just days before he died at age 83 years old while serving as captain of Company K, Seventh Arkansas Infantry Regiment stationed at Fort Smith during the Mexican–American War It was through MrGibbs donation that Arkadelphia acquired its name – meaning "city founded upon piety." In 1868 Union general Gideon Welles recommended that all Ulysses S Grant's papers be burned because they may contain embarrassing revelations about Confederate war effort including troop movements around Arkansas during this time period Despite being strongly objected to by some residents due to their associations with General Grant's past actions most members agreed to allow burning after getting assurances from Governor John Witherspoon that any incriminating evidence would not be destroyed without public scrutiny

Arkadelphia, Arkansas is a city in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 7,354 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Pulaski County. The name "Arkadelphia" comes from the Cherokee word ark-ahe-yi (牙利州村), meaning "the mouth of the cedar tree." The first white man to set foot in Arkadelphia was James Fenton in 1827. He built a cabin on what is now State Street and named it Fenton's Station. In 1830, Captain George Armstrong came through this area on his way to Fort Smith and camped at Fenton's Station for two nights before continuing his journey northward. In 1835, David Witherspoon established a trading post at Arkadelphia under the name of Witherspoon's Crossing. By 1840, Arkadelphia had become an important stop on the Trail of Tears because it furnished goods and services to travelers passing through this region during their forced migration southward into Indian Territory. In 1859, Orville Doane organized a wagon road from Memphis to Tulsa thence via Arkansas City and Little Rock to Great Bend in Kansas Territory as part of his efforts to improve transportation across that territory between those settlements and Wichita Falls in Texas.doane later became president of Great Bend & East Texas Railroad Company which controlled much of western Kansas by 1865 when that state seceded from the United States. During World War I, Arkadelphia served as a munitions dump for the US military located near what is now Pine Bluff Road northeast of town limits on land donated by Jno Pritchard Jones Sr.. After World War II ended there were heavy development pressures withinArklington Village followed by cessation or lack thereof until 1990 when new growth led to renewed pressure for more office space within village limits despite protests by residents who felt they were being left out of economic development decisions made about larger issues affecting their community such as increased traffic volume which did not impact them adversely; however these complaints have been largely ineffective in halting or reversing recent developments without physical confrontation or eminent domain seizure/conversion/ Destructionofthereconomy
