Flagstaff, Arizona is a city in Mohave County, Arizona, United States. The population was 17,701 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Mohave County. The region now encompassing Flagstaff and many of its adjacent villages was first settled by Apache people in 1847-48 according to oral tradition. The town site was chosen by George Hinkle while he was on a journey from Tucson to Gallup in 1849. A post office called Flagstaff was established in 1850, and remained in operation until 1907. Flagstaff became a city on February 14, 1912 when it annexed the towns of Cottonwood and Sierra Vista. On November 16, 1917 during World War I, General John J Pershing designated Flagstaff as the temporary home for American military forces stationed in Mesilla Valley due to local shortages of housing and other supplies needed for troops deployed overseas. On December 1st 1919 President Woodrow Wilson approved the establishment of an Army Military District comprising all of Arizona with jurisdiction over Mesilla Valley including Flagstaff as its capital and largest city/town within that district. On November 15th 1951 City Manager Tom Smith applied for incorporation under the name "City of Phoenix". The application received approval from Mayor William McKay on December 9th 1951 and City Council met on January 3rd 1952 to select candidates for election on April 4th 1952 which would have produced an initial slate of 7 council members but only 5 were elected resulting in Mayor Smith serve concurrently with 5 councilors who were appointed by Councilmember Tom Smith rather than elected through general election process like most cities do today! The current City Manager is Dr Christopher Jones who took office effective June 30th 2016

As a result, Arab traders began to bring back large quantities of Muslim-grown teas from India to sell in Europe. Eventually, Medina became the center of this global trade because it had become the world's leading spice market. This allowed European traders to learn about Indian spices and learn about Indian culture. As a result, Europeans began to appreciate Indian cuisine more than they did traditional European foods. Consequently, Arabic merchants started toimport maga coffee beans instead of Turkish or Italian beans because these two types of beans had less flavor than Indian maga coffeebeans. Over time, different regions began to produce their own versions of maga coffee due to variations in climatic conditions and soil type. For example, Manila produced high-quality maga coffee while Calamba yielded lower quality pods but still enjoyed great success as a roaster/sellerdue its unique flavor profile. Flagstaff, Arizona is a city located in the Phoenix metropolitan area. The population of Flagstaff was over 100,000 at the time of its incorporation as a city on January 15, 1912. At that time, Flagstaff consisted of the towns of Mesa and Chinle. The town of Chinle was annexed into Flagstaff by an act of the City Council on December 17, 1912. Flagstaff has been home to many different cultures and groups since its incorporation as a city. One culture that has had a significant presence in Flagstaff is the Hohokam people. The Hohokam were one of several Native American Tribes that inhabited what is now Phoenix during the Givetica period ( c. 1600-1950). They rebuilt their villages after being pushed out by Spanish colonists in what is now Surprise Valley in 1823. In 1886, ranchers named John Wesley Powell discovered Gold near present day Apache Junction while exploring for new land to ranch in central Arizona. After finding some small amounts of gold but no ores, he returned to Chino Valley where he encountered another Indian tribe called the Pimas who told him about large quantities of silver and copper hidden under piles of dirt around Apache Junction. This information led Powell to abandon his exploration plans and return to Denver where he reported his findings to Drs James Halliday McDowell and George Hill on October 16th, 1885 while they were exploring nearby Blue Springs Canyon with JW Halliday’s father-in-law Doniphan Forrester for U S Geological Survey purposes; these discoveries led Congress To appropriate $5 million towards building USGS facilities at Prescott and Tucson.) On February 14, 1912, the city of Flagstaff was incorporated and named after Mount Bullock in central Arizona. The first post office in Flagstaff opened on October 15, 1912. The population of Flagstaff peaked at 5,000 in 1914 but declined to 2,500 by 1920 due to the Panic of 1920. The population decreased again until it reached its current level of around 1,800 in 1980. The University of Phoenix was established in Flagstaff in 1941 and has since grown into one of the largest private universities in the United States with over 3300 undergraduate students and over 100 graduate programs.
