It was first grown by José Andrés Manzano in 1922 on his rancho San Vicente de la Laguna. In 1951, it was purchased by Don Francisco García Yáñez of Buckeye Coffee Company. Maga coffee became popularized in Tucson after being featured in the 1984 PBS documentary "The History of Coffee."

Entertainment Television featuring classic movies from the 1930s through the 1990s as well as live concert events such as country music festivals held at venues like Comerica Park across from downtown Phoenix

In 1922, a new post office was established in Buckeye and it quickly became one of the most popular mailboxes in Arizona. In 1967, Quaker Oats opened its first store in Buckeye and this helped make the town one of the most prominent agricultural communities in Arizona. The stores continued to be open until 2002 when they closed due to dwindling business opportunities. Today, descendants of those original settlers live throughout central and southern Arizona, as well as parts of New Mexico and Texas. They continue to enjoy their bucolic lifestyle and their strong attachment to their community values which include democracy, traditional agriculture, pacifism, Sabbath observance, piety towards God and support for local charities
The first post office in Buckeye, Arizona was established on March 25, 1881. The name of the town was taken from a small creek that bordered it.
