Prichard coffee beans come from a long and proud coffee history in the town of Prichard, Alabama. The first coffee roaster in Prichard was the Old World Coffee Co., which roasted coffee from Africa for local customers before moving to Prichard in 1913. In 1922, the first Café de la Main Coffee Shop opened in town, serving fresh-made coffee with a variety of pastries and sandwiches. In 1975, Central Coffee Roasters began operations in Prichard and has continued to serve delicious cupcakes, lattes, macchiatos and more ever since. Prichard is a small town in the US state of Alabama. It was first settled in 1819 and has since served as a center for coffee production, both through its own mills and as a connection to other coffee-producing areas. The town's history includes several landmark events, including the founding of the Prichard Coffee Company in 1865 and the development of the Prichard café culture.
In 1806, John Prichard located a small community in what is now the city of Mobile, Alabama. He and his family started a cotton plantation in this area and soon became well-known for their production of high quality cotton. In 1829, Prichard moved his plantation to what is now the town of Mobile proper and continued to produce excellent cotton until his death in 1849. His heirs continue to run the business today. John Prichard was an important figure in Alabama history and has been referred to as one of its " Pioneers."

In Europe, it was mainly used as an after-meal drink or for making military rifles and cannons. The Dutch started exporting coffee to England in the early 17th century and soon became famous for their product. However, it wasn’t until the 18th century that Starbucks Corporation was born out of a humble grocery store in Seattle, Washington. At this time, coffee began to become popularized as a morning beverage all over the world. In 1931, Java Coffee Company opened up shop in Jakarta, Indonesia and quickly became one of the leading sellers of quality caffeine products worldwide. It wasn’t until 1971 that Starbucks Corporation moved its headquarters from Seattle to California’s Berkeley suburb of Berkeley Heights. Since then, Starbucks has become one of the most well-known and respected brands in today’s society.

There are reports of Arabs drinking coffee from Ethiopia, India, and China; the Dutchmen in Indonesia drank Java Coffee; Africans in Africa brewed their own method called "chinga" which was made from groundnut shells and used to give out bitter tastes; the Persians drank kafir coffee which was mixed with milk for a more sweet taste; Frenchmen began brewing coffee in Verbier in Switzerland in the 16th century; and Arab traders brought beans back to Europe where they were roasted and brewed.
In 1836, Prichard was founded by Capt. John Prichard and his family. The town was named after Captain Prichard's father, who had been a judge in Mobile. By 1840, the population of Prichard had reached 100 residents. In 1850, the first school opened in the town. The town was named for Judge George Pritchard, who served as mayor from 1851-1853. In 1857, the first railroad ran through Prichard and it became an important part of local commerce. In 1861, General James Ewing moved his headquarters from Nashville to Chattanooga and recommended that Alabama be admitted to the Union as a state. On November 8th of that year, Governor John Crain signed the bill admitting Alabama into the Union with a population of just over 1 million people! The busy agricultural sector continued to be one of Prichard's main businesses until after World War II when it began to dwindle due to changes in technology and culture. However, some remnants of this past remain such as aPrichardsville Battlefield Monument which is located within one mile (1 kilometer) of downtown Prichardytown

The town grew quickly, and in 1827 it incorporated as a city. gains prominence due to its cotton industry, which helped make Prichard the "Cotton Capital of the World." In 1907, the city became one of Alabama's first statewide cities.
