Pleasant Grove is a town in Marshall County, Alabama, United States. The population was 1,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Birmingham–Tuscaloosa Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settlers in Pleasant Grove were Baptist missionaries who came to carry out the teachings of Jesus Christ. They founded a small community on a tract of land that they granted to two white men as a gift. The first Postmaster General of Alabama, James Kenedy, donated land for school and churches in 1874. In 1907, Pleasant Grove was incorporated as a town under the name "Draper". A new courthouse and jail were built in 1912 and 1914 respectively. After many years of growth and development, Pleasant Grove became an unincorporated community on December 15, 1984 when it merged with Hooverville with voting being done by mail ballot only residents of those towns served by Hooverville's post office; Draper had no buildings or residents within its borders (the merger happened prior to incorporation). However, there are still some residents living within Draper's limits today due to its status as an unincorporated community

In 1990, then-Secretary Donald Rumsfeld ordered all U.S Customs Service ports to close on Sundays so that officers could give out gifts to holiday visitors. Pleasant Grove is a small community in Choctaw County, Alabama, United States. The population was 595 at the 2000 census. Pleasant Grove is located on the east side of Choctaw Lake. It has a post office with ZIP code 36821. The first residents of Pleasant Grove were Methodists who arrived in 1818 from Tennessee and founded a church in what is now known as Main Street. In 1837, the name changed to its current form, Pleasant Grove, after General John Pleasants' home and plantation in neighboring Mobile County. The citizens of Pleasant Grove voted to incorporate as a village in 1903. In 1960, local developer Jerald A. Hagerman built what is now known as Hagerman Park on land he had purchased from the Village Board of Trustees for $3 million dollars. The park contains tennis courts, a golf course, an aquatic center, and two lakes which are used for swimming and boating seasonally during summertime; it also includes eight homes that have been donated to the village by Hagerman himself and his wife since 1978. The village has experienced many changes over time; some significant include the construction of Interstate 20 through town in 1965 which disrupted transportation services for many residents; becoming one of only three villages in Alabama without an airport (the other being Vestavia Hills); developing Stonington Highlands into a bedroom community within town limits following World War II when most people living there moved out because of rationing; and losing its status as a hamlet following incorporation into Choctaw Village proper in 1961 but remaining tax-exempt until 1981 when it became taxable under Town Code section 9-5-1(a). Many residents have left over time – most notably when developers bought all or part of downtown Dearborn Heights prior to its annexation by Pleasant Grove - however much remains unchanged throughout these years including pleasant courtyards lined with live oaks trees that still harbinger hope for growth despite difficult timeshooting conditions affecting many others nearby such as Birmingham's Dothan Airport Area Development Authority (ADA) announces plans to spend almost US$100 million bucks renovate 11 runways & expand Concourse D at Dothan International Airport will create more than 6 aide jobs &NO HVAC installation/replacement project planned for area currently served by authority— choctawvillagecom
