The United States Air Force deploys gift history in Ozark, Alabama every year. The deployed Gift History program is designed to provide service members and their families with unique and memorable gifts that celebrate American military service. In 2017, the United States Air Force deployed a gift history team to Ozark, Alabama. The team was composed of airmen from the 455th Airlift Wing at Macon Air Force Base. The 455th Airlift Wing is responsible for providinglift services to Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Tacoma, Washington. The gift history team delivered more than 350 unique items to local residents in Ozark over the course of six months. The Ozark air force deployed a gift history in 1972. The gift history was made by Lt. Colonel David A. Boren and Corporal Don H. Smith of the 1st Alabama Air National Guard Unit, who brought a plaque to be placed on the WWII Memorial at Montgomery Municipal Airport in honor of members from their unit that served in World War II.
Ozark, Alabama is located in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains. The population was 7,362 as of the 2010 census. Ozark is a small town that has seen its fair share of change over the years. The first settlers arrived in this area in 1819 and built a cabin on a hill above present day Ozark. The town grew gradually and by 1872 it had a population of 2,500. It wasn't until 1907 that Ozark attained city status and began to experience some of its most dramatic changes. In that year, gold was discovered in nearby Tellico Hills and soon Ozark became one of the main hubs for mining activity in the region. thousands were employed during thegold rush days and many businesses flourished such as grocery stores, blacksmiths, banks, churches etcetera. However, by 1915 ozarks great commercial crisis had arrived when a fire destroyed most of downtown and much of the equipment used for mining operations led to increased taxes which caused business to decline even further. However, things started to improve after World War I when new industries such as automobiles replacedmining but again prosperity came to an end with oil discoveries occurring in nearby fracking areas starting around this time
The United States Air Force deployed gift history to support service members and their families during the 2008-2009 timeframe. This deployment involved the shipment of over 150,000ift items for military and civilians in eleven states. The items were donated by American companies and individuals who wished to show their support for the troops and their families. Some of the more famous donation recipients include Apple, Beats by Dr Dre, Ford Motor Company, Nike, AT&T, and Coca Cola. The Air Force also distributed Christmas trees in each state as a way to bring holiday cheer to servicemen and women across America.

Other examples include the quarterly USAF/Navy Christmas Party, which was first held in 1962 and now features live music, refreshments, and an annual RAF Bomber Command Display; and the Ulithi Island Naval Treaty Award Awards Program, which rewards outstanding contributions to U.S.-Japan relations by military personnel or civilians.
Ozark is a small town located in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama, United States. It was founded in 1836 by the Ozark Masons as part of the development of what is now known as Ozark National Forest. The community has grown since then and now includes over 1,000 residents. Ozark is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Alabama, with its history and culture drawing visitors from all over the country. The town was named for Mount Mitchell, which stands just east of town on Hwy 20. In 1836, three men - John Ewing, James Swayze and Richard Witherspoon - came across a high mountain while exploring Indian Territory. They named the mountain "Mount Mitchell" after General Andrew Jackson's erstwhile home state of Tennessee. The three men set out to settle their land and build homes but only Ewing and Swayze reached their destination before they were killed by Indians during an ambush. Witherspoon made it to his house eventually but died later from pneumonia brought on by his elevation changes (the highest peak in Tuscaloosa County). After Witherspoon's death, his family sold all their holdings in the area to local farmers for $1 per acre ($26 total). In 1838-39 two more settlers - Levi White and Joshua Drake - arrived at Mount Mitchell from Illinois looking for new land to farm following the success of General James Kenedy's Cherokee War Expedition into Alabama that year. White had been involved with Creek Nation affairs before arriving in Georgia; he had learned about white settlement there and thought it would be a good place to start a farm because no one else was interested in it. He also wanted revenge on those who had slaughtered his people years earlier when he was still living among them as a chieftain under Chief Osceola's leadership near present day Montgomery County, Alabama (now western Mobile County). Drake also settled hereabouts around 1840 after coming down river from Missouri via Arkansas River Bridge across the Appalachian Mountains route between Jacksonville Landing on Lower Mobile Bayou (now known as Fort Lauderdale) and Arkadelphia Landing on Upper Mobile Bayou opposite Camden Yards on Little Tallapoosa Island (). A post office called Ozark was established at Mount Mitchell in 1841; it continued operation until 1907. In 1849 George Fenton erected a trading post at what is now Old Fort Wright near present-day Junction City; this became temporary headquarters for several months while Fenton built himself a better cabin nearby using materials taken from various stagecoaches that passed through his area en route to Huntsville or Tuscaloosa for trade purposes. By 1850 Fenton had completed construction of his own log cabin which he styled 'The Brick House'. He soon became active within ozarks Masonic Lodge #2 A&M No 527 where he served as Master mason until his death in 1865 aged 80 years old.. Fenton was succeeded by son Amos Fenton who continued father’s lodge activity until 1901 when Frederick Ivey took up Lodge membership.. Between 1860-1868 Amos Fenton hauled coal for stages between Huntsville depot and Decatur about 4 miles southwest of today’s junction city along US Highway 431/ Birmingham Pike; this drove coal traffic onto Mtn Rd which became Holly Springs Rd thence West Trace Rd thence service road back up Holly Springs Rd past current intersection with US HWY 231/Hwy 44 & FM 19606
In the early 1800s, Ozark was a small township in Clarke County. It was named for Jean Baptiste Ozier, an French missionary who had been killed in 1817 while exploring the area. In 1828, Ozark became part of Alabama and was renamed by governor John Beale after the town of Ozark, Missouri. In 1836, it was organized as a county and added to Clarke County. The population of Ozark reached 2,000 by 1860. The post office at Ozark served the community until 1915. By 1870, most of what is now Ozark had come under cultivation and production of cotton began; however, textiles were not very successful in this region because of its relatively low soil quality.
