The battalion lost 1 officer and 20 enlisted men killed or mortally wounded during its service.

The growth of Oxford during this time period can be seen in numerous ways including: "the construction of new buildings such as City Hall (1925), courthouse (1927), post office (1927), Exxon gas station (1928), Payne Field football stadium ( 1926 ), Masonic Lodge No 2 Building(1899)", "the addition of more streets/ avenues including Main Street(1920), High Street(1924)", "the opening of dozens new businesses such as banks/ mercers/ grocery stores/(1920-1950)", "the establishment at Ole Miss of an agricultural research center which would become world renowned"(1945)", etc.)." During this time period Oxford also saw significant changes within its own community with regards to demographics; although most people continued to live close together on small streets called “common areas” communities began sprouting up throughout the city which allowed for greater diversity and expression within their midst"." In 1999, City of Oxford voters passed a referendum asking for incorporation into Mobile County as a full municipality. This annexation led to an increase in job opportunities forOxford citizens; today the city has nearly 50% of the employment within its borders.
