Mountain Brook, Alabama is a town of about 14,000 people in the northwestern part of the state of Alabama. It is bordered by Mobile County to the east, Montgomery County to the west and north, and Jefferson County to the south. The town was founded in 1837 as a small community on the base of Mount Hamilton. By 1865, it had grown to be a major village with over 15 thousand residents. Mountain Brook's coffee history began with European settlers who arrived in what is now Mountain Brook in 1837. At that time, Coffee Lake was located on Mobile Bay and only accessible by water because of its high altitude. The first mill in Mountain Brook was built by James Cockerill and his brother-in-law John Hargrave around 1840. In 1865, when Birmingham became an city, Mountain Brook's population had reached 20,000 people. However, coffee continued to be produced at the original mill until it closed down in 1978. Today there are several coffee shops and cafes located throughout MountainBrook; some have been open for more than 100 years! One such cafe that has been around since before World War II is The Roastery at 269 Main Street (pictured above). According to their website: "The Roastery offers delicious cup of Java or Latte artichoke hearts from their unique roasting process." They also offer sandwiches (pictured below), salads (pictured below), pies (pictured below), pastries ( pictured left) and cakes! Their coffee beans are sourced from local roasters throughout Western Alabama including Bed bath & Beyond Coffee Company which opened its doors in 1912 according to their website!

Mountain Brook is one of the most southern towns in Alabama and has a rich history dating back to the early 1800s. Mountain Brook was founded by Welsh immigrants in 1810. The name comes from the mountain range that dominates the town. At first, Mountain Brook was primarily an agricultural community with small businesses and homes. However, over time, Mountain Brook began to develop into a vibrant city with a diversified economy. Today, Mountain Brook is home to a number of cultural attractions including the Baptist church which dates back to 1892 and features one ofAlabama's largest organ/piano collections;the Science Museum of Montgomery which offers exhibits on science and technology;the Fine Arts Center which contains several galleries including one devoted to American art;andThe University of Alabama at Birmingham which offers undergraduate and graduate programs in many fields including business, law, health care, engineering and sciences. In addition to its cultural attractions, Mountainbrook also has some excellent restaurants featuring traditional British cuisine as well as modern American fare. One recent development that has helped make this town even more popular is its new shopping mall which includes an impressive variety of stores across several floorspace.

However, the first recorded reference to coffee being served in a professional setting came from a French cookbook, called The Cook's Bible, published in 1760. At that time, coffee was still considered an agricultural product and was not yet considered a luxury drink. The first cafes were specialized restaurants where wealthy patrons could enjoy wine and cigars while enjoying their morning cup of Joe. Coffee became popularized at these establishments as they offered a unique experience that wasn't possible at home. Coffee began to spread throughout Europe after it was discovered by Portuguese traders in the 16th century. It wasn't until the 18th century that coffee reached America and began to be enjoyed by Yankee sailors. Coffee became an important part of American culture and was often used to give sailors an energy boost before battle or during long voyages. Eventually, coffee started becoming known as a luxurious commodity and began to be exported around the world. In 1886, The Daily Telegraph ran an article entitled "The World's First Cup of Coffee" which chronicled how coffee had become so popular that many small businesses had begun supplying it directly to consumers worldwide. This change led to the development of modern day cafés where customers could enjoy high-quality coffee all day long without having to leave their comfortable homes.

Mountain Brook is a small town in Alabama, located about 26 miles east of Birmingham. The population was 1,898 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Montgomery metropolitan area. Mountain Brook began as a small farming village situated on the slopes of Eastern Hill overlooking downtown Montgomery. In 1876, John C. Wright founded Mountain Brook Agricultural and Mechanical Company to produce goods needed by farmers in Midwestern England. A year later, he donated land for a new school district and shopping center near his home which became the town's first incorporated buildings in 1889. In 1915, Mountain Creek ran through the center of town and water pressure from underground reserves allowed residents to begin growing corn and other crops on their property which they continue to do until today; this led to what is now known as "MountainBrook Corn Belt". The post office was established at Mountainbrook in 1907, but it closed its doors in 1978 because of budget cuts that were made during the Reagan administration's economic recession. The building that served as the post office from 1908-1978 still stands today and can be seen from Main Street in MountainBrook. It has been reported that one reason why Post Office Square was never built was because there wasn't enough money available to build it due to skyrocketing postage rates associated with World War II mail deliveries being made over mountain roads instead of through USPS' own facilities like Market Street Square or Druid Hills Drive East where state government buildings were then located (Montgomery had gained city status after incorporation). Today, you can find several different businesses open inside what used to be Post Office Square including: Bicknell's Drug Store, Black & Decker Hardware(which moved into a new building next door), Verizon Wireless(the original store before they moved out), Microtel USA(a Sprint Cellular store), Pizza Hut(which opened up across the street from Verizon Wireless) and Subway sandwich shop (now Peet's Coffee Shop). All five businesses are owned by First National Bank who also have an ATM inside their building according" . This business boom started back when USPS stopped providing express service between Montgomery and Birmingham so these businesses picked up where express postal services left off
