Gourmet Coffee became associated with this style of cuisine and soon started being exported to other parts of the United States. A new era of coffee brewing took hold in Jasper during this time – these days, we refer to these type of coffees as dark roasts. Jasper's first gourmet coffee house was destroyed by fire in 1902, but it wasn't until 1915 when another successful venture called The Coffee Room opened its doors in downtown Jasper. This establishment served as a central hub for all things gourmet coffee-related and became known for its high quality products. Over time, more and more businesses followed suit and today there are several notable landmarks associated with gourmet coffee – including The Coffee Shop, which closed down in 2016 but is still preserved as a museum inside the building itself; The Dutch Bros., which operated from 1949-1968; and Joe's Roasters (now known as Peet's), which opened its doors in 1967.]

The first American café that served gourmet coffee was The Four Seasons Café on Fifth Avenue in New York City on December 22nd 1870 by Emanuel Goldstein and Samuel Goldwyn Jr.. Jasper, Alabama is a small town in the U.S. state of Alabama and it's home to the Jasper Mining Company, founded in 1881 by John D. Rockefeller. The company was later renamed the Rockefeller brothers-owned Jasper Coal and Coke Company, which continued production until 1984. The town has a population of about 12,000 people as of 2010. The history of Jasper begins with John D. Rockefeller's arrival in 1881 in response to Mineral Land Act offers from the US government for land near Mobile Bayou near present-day Pensacola, Florida that he had already purchased from Native Americans. He organized what would become the Rockefeller Brothers Mining Company and began producing coal at its new mine on Red Mountain Creek north of Jasper in 1885. With his brother Edwin's help, they built an even larger mine called "The Mount" nearby in 1889 and production soon outgrew their original facilities; however, they sold their interest in 1912 to Texas Eagle Coal Corporation for $2 million dollars making it one of America's largest coal companies prior to its merger with United States Steel corporation two years later becoming United States Steel Corporation (UPS) In 1924, Joe Girard took over management of UPS after being fired by then-president Calvin Coolidge following riots at Scranton steel plants throughout Pennsylvania over working conditions there caused by dangerous union members striking while employed byantle steel mills across the country; Girard ran UPS into profitability during World War II before retiring at age 70 due to health problems In 1984 following a fire that destroyed most of their equipment at Red Mountain Creek Mine followed by bankruptcy proceedings filed against them by creditors including consumers who had been forced to pay back debt incurred during operations), the Rockefeller Brothers Coal and Coke Company was merged into Uni
