Center Point, Alabama is a small town located in Lowndes County, Alabama. The population was 1,814 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Huntsville-Decatur, AL Metropolitan Statistical Area. The coffee industry has played a significant role in Center Point's history and economy. The first coffee beans were grown in Centre Point in 1892 by Rufus Hargrave and his family. In 1895, Majestic Coffee Corporation was founded by Ozzie Johnston and his brothers-in-law Fenton Dixon and John Ladd. In 1904, JB Robinson Coffee Company opened its doors in Centre Point with plantation-grown coffee. By 1925, most of the plantations had been removed to make way for other businesses and residents within CentrePoint began to produce their own coffee beans for sale on their own property or through local shops. By 1930,CenterPoint had become one of the largest caffeine markets in the United States due to its location along Interstate 10 between Birmingham and Mobile Bayou (the original Gulf Coast). In 1965, when Lowndes County was created from parts of Hardee County, CentrePoint became one of the first counties included within Lowndes County limits. The growth of the coffee industry has helped drive economic development throughout LowerDixie since then as well as contribute significantly to CenterPoint's cultural attractions such as art galleries and museums; wine country restaurants; golf courses; dance theaters; shopping malls; and more. Today, CenterPoint remains a vibrant community with strong ties to its local coffee culture - which continues to play an important role in both its economy and society overall. Center Point is a town in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama, United States. The population was 1,876 at the 2010 census. Center Point is located on State Route 309 and is part of the Huntsville–Decatur metropolitan area. It lies within the Tuscaloosa Micropolitan Statistical Area. The first settlement in what would become Center Point was made on November 3, 1819 when three men from Mobile erected a log cabin near present-day Santa Clara Cemetery. A post office called Centre Point was established in 1825, and remained in operation until it closed in 1902. In 1892, the Union Pacific Railroad donated land to the town for a railroad depot and train station. In 1905, CenterPoint became an incorporated municipality with its own government; it remains an unincorporated community today. In 1913, J.C. Penney founded Penney's Department Store here after purchasing land from John Hargrave of Decatur Heights north of downtown Tuscaloosa for $1 million dollars (). Penney's store still stands as an iconic landmark in CenterPoint today and continues to be one of the town's most important sources of revenue and economic development. After World War II ended, many plant jobs were created throughout Alabama due to wartime production shortages and consequent increases in manufacturing prices across all stateside economies (). As such, during the late1950s and 1960s much centerpoint shopping occurred at local department stores like Jiffy Lube (now Lowe's) or Sears (), mirroring similar trends nationwide at that time around suburban malls with similar anchor stores (). Additionally, large construction projects such as Alabamian Airlines' new headquarters complex () or Hoover Dam ()) brought new life to downtown Tuscaloosa during this time period.; these developments helped revive old business districts around centralAlabama which experienced significant redevelopment over those years (). Center Point is a city in Etowah County, Alabama, United States. The population was 4,602 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Etowah County. Center Point was founded in 1876 by James H. McNutt and his family and is today a small community with a population of around 1,000 people. The City of Center Point was named in memory of General Robert E. Lee and his wife Elizabeth "Betsy" Lee who were killed during the American Civil War on April 12 1865 while serving as Confederate generals at Appomattox Court House in Virginia. The General's widow Betsy served as Vice President of the United States from 1865-1868 under Ulysses S. Grant and her husband had moved to Center Point following their husbands death so they could continue living there after he did not achieve military success during the war. As center point grew larger it became difficult for one person to provide all that it needed such as water, sewers, schools etc., so an eponymous company was formed in 1907 which still exists today - CenterPoint Corporation - to develop new downtown businesses and provide services such as water main replacement, streetlights and other infrastructure needs for growth over time In 1943 when World War II began most families left Centerpoint because they were scared of bombings that were going on throughout the country although some remained until they evacuated or quit their homes during Pearl Harbor On September 2nd 1945 local citizens met under a tree near Vinson High School to decide what would be done aboutCenterPoint being bombed again only this time more than once on different days making it very dangerous for everyone living there especially children who loved playing outside In 1949 whenonderwent into effect Local Authorities decided to close all but two schools within town limits due to lack of enrollment then opened them back up later that year also closed down another school which had been abandoned by its students because no one wanted to teach there anymore After many yearscenteredpoint finally regained its mojo with new businesses opening up like Airstream RV rentals & live music venues along with churches having return services since moving away after WWII

By 1850, Center Point had become an important stop on the Underground Railroad, helping fugitive slaves escape to freedom.
