The company became successful and soon had a variety of coffee brands including Anniston Roast, Anniston Farms, andAnniston Hullabaloo. In 1916, the company moved its operations to what is now known as the Gadsden Mall in downtown Anniston.

The first town in what is now Anniston was called "New Hope" and was founded by Amish settlers on the east side of Mobile Bay in 1836. A second settlement, "Bentonville", grew up near present-day downtown Anniston and became an important trade center for the area after railroads were built through the area in the 1840s. In 1851, when Marshall County was organized, New Hope was merged into it as its principal town and served as its county seat until 1907. In that year, Bentonville became its primary seat again and remains so today. Anniston's growth came largely due to its location as a transportation hub on both state and national highways connecting it to other parts of Alabama and Georgia. The city also developed significant industry including automobile manufacturing beginning in 1909 and textile production beginning around 1910; these industries are still active today. The city has also become known for its annual festivals - such as the Cotton Bowl Classic football game (the only time ever played outdoors), Riverfest concerts throughout summertime, Oktoberfest annually during fall season, duck races throughout early spring/late fall/early winter etc., among others - which attract hundreds of thousands of visitors each year to enjoy various activities within walking or biking distance from their homes or businesses! The City Council currently consists of 5 members with Mayor Pro Tem position open for election every 4 years; Councilmen serve 3-year terms with 2 councilwoman terms ending every year; there are no limits on how many terms an individual may serve on a City Councilmember’s first term but they must serve a full 2 consecutive terms thereafter upon leaving office (subject to re-election).
