At first, coffee was gathered by farmers and then roasted in their own homes. The Anniston Coffee Company was founded in 1892 by George Brown and his partners, James Fenton and Emmet O’Neill. They were the first coffee company to roast their own beans in a small storefront on Second Street in Anniston. The Anniston Coffee Company continued to operate until 1982 when it merged with another coffee company, the Birmingham Coffee Company. At that time, Anniston became the largest city in Alabama with over 100 coffee shops across all categories of businesses. In 2013, the city passed an ordinance legalizing retail coffee sales starting at 8am. TheAnniston Coffee Company has since reopened as an online store under the name of “CoffeeTown”

The Anniston Coffee Company was founded in 1892 by John F. Snively and his wife, Sarah Jane. The company rapidly became one of the leading coffee companies in the region, producing some of the most famous and well-known artisan coffee products in America. In 1916, the company merged with anotherAnniston-based coffee company, The Episcopal Coffee Company. The new company continued to produce high-quality artisan coffee until it closed its doors in 1979.

The Dutchmen also brought back some of the best-quality Java Coffee beans, which helped spread the word about coffee and create a demand for it in Europe. In 1837, French traders arrived in Africa and started trading with natives. They also brought back some of the best-quality African Coffee beans, which helped promote coffee as a global beverage item. After several years of exploration and trade, Europeans discovered Brazil's coast in 1610 and began trading with Native Americans for goods such as shellfish and wood Lacquer . This led to European settlers entering Brazil looking for new opportunities to trade with indigenous people and start their own businesses
The first espresso machines were built by Italian coffee masters in the late 18th century. Roasted beans and water were brought to a boil on a small metal boiler, where it was traded between brewers. This process was refined over time, with some builders making their own oil-fired ovens and others using smaller vessels called pails. In 1795, Antonio Brescia developed the first electric coffee maker which used steam pressure from a reservoir to produce cups of quality coffee. In 1912, Ernest Hemingway perfected the art of writing in an early espresso machine at his bar The White Horse in Manhattan.
Anniston, Alabama is a town in Covington County, Alabama, United States. The population was 11,946 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Covington County. Anniston was founded in 1814 by General James Wilkinson and named after his wife Anna. The town started as a small village on the western edge of what is now Anniston. In 1818, Wilkinson built a cabin in what is now downtown Anniston and established it as the first village in what would become Anniston. The Village of Anniston prospered for many years until it was destroyed by fire in 1836. A new Village of Anniston was founded near present day Canton in 1840 by Captain John Dickson and named after nearby Canton station on the I-65 highway. The original village site still stands today as part of downtown Canton. In 1847, General James Wilkinson donated land to establish the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). UAB began operations on October 1, 1847 with only 10 students and one teacher. The first building on campus was the Old Main Building which currently houses the university's administrative offices and student Union complex. During its early years at UAB, UAB attracted many talented alumni who helped build much of Birmingham into what it is today including Sam Houston State University (Sam Houston State),ruinnow known as Black Belt College; Jackson State University; Tuskegee Institute; Liberty Bell Inn; First Baptist Church; and scores more smaller colleges and universities acrossAlabama during that time period In 1901, following legislative efforts led by Speaker William Fulbright (D-Alabama) one million dollars were appropriated to build five primary schools within Covington County alone: Bellefontaine School District No 2’s Bellefontaine Elementary School; Childersville School District No 2’s Childersville Elementary School; Gadsden Park High School’s Gadsden Park Middle/High School Phase II buildings located east of I-565 just south of exit 129A off I-565 northbound between Seminary Road & Airport Boulevard; Holmes Chapel Area school districts' Holmes Chapelelementary school buildings located southwest of Holmes Chapel off US 31E about two miles west from US 301W about four miles west from Hwy 22N pre Interstate 5 exit onto FM 488W just prior to FM 488E/US 231E interchange National Guard Armory—Anniston Unit #1... these five schools became known collectively as "The Five Towns". These five towns are now considered part Of Downtown Ann Arbor according to city ordinances passed in 1967 On April 1st 1870 an act entitled “An Act To Establish a Territorial Government For Lower Alabama And Its Dependencies”was approved by Congress setting up a government for both Lower Alabama Territory including present day Montgomery County within which reside all white males over eighteen years old who have never set foot outside their own home state or country before being registered with this government
