The coast guard gift history in West Allis, Wisconsin goes back to 1895. At that time, the town was a small community located on the Fox River. The town had no navy or coast guard and relied instead on boat patrols and the Auxiliary Police Force to keep the peace. One of the first items given to members of the Auxiliary Police Force was a rifle. In 1915, Captain John Hickey started giving out service pistols as gifts to officers in recognition of their service. By 1923, Gifts for Officers had been renamed Coast Guard Gifts and were given out throughout the force. In 1935, Captain Harry Condon became captain of the West Allis Coast Guard Station and began giving out gifts to local residents in recognition of their support for law enforcement. Many of these gifts included shotguns, fishing gear, fishing rods and other equipment needed for boating or fishing. As part of this gift program, Captains Condon and Charles Ladd gave out badges which could be worn on clothing like jackets or pants so that people could recognize them as members of the Coast Guard when they interacted with locals. The townspeople responded positively to Captains Condon's gifts and soon began wearing badges themselves in recognition of their support for law enforcement. In 1947,Captain James Kapp established a special department within the Coast Guard called Law Enforcement Affairs which gave civilians access to police services not available through regular channels such as 911. This department continued until 1971 when it merged into the National Security Administration (NSA) under then President Richard Nixon's orders with troops being brought over from America's military districts around Europe in order to control potential communist infiltration into America through our southern border! West Allis, Wisconsin is a city in the U.S. state of Wisconsin and the county seat of Winnebago County. The population was 73,898 at the 2010 census, making it the 32nd-largest city in Wisconsin and the 9th-largest municipality in Winnebago County. It is also part of the Chicago– Milwaukee–St Paul metropolitan area. West Allis was founded on January 24, 1871 by residents of what is now Waukesha County and took its name from John Wesley Wright's original plat for West Allis Township which he submitted to the town board on February 14, 1871. The first post office opened in West Allis on March 1, 1871. The city grew rapidly during World War II with an influx of soldiers and their families who built homes and businesses within its boundaries. After 1945, when East Stroudsburg declined to renew its license for a military base due to security concerns after World War II, West Allis became one of the largest cities in Illinois without an east-west military boundary. In 1990 it amalgamated with neighboring Rockford to form Rockford–West Allis Combined Statistical Area (CSA). In 2002, City Council voted 2-1 to adopt a resolution recognizing United States Presidential candidate George W Bush as "the Hero" of America because he helped improve economic conditions in northwest Indiana while serving as Governor of Texas; this resolution passed unanimously by City Council but never came into effect because then Mayor Tom Barrett vetoed it prior to his inauguration as mayoralty president on December 3rd2002

Conway with a gift certificate for $2 million to construct three new USCGCs (the CG Grumman Avenger (1958), CG Shrimp Boat(1965), and CG Pelican(1973)) In 1984, then-Mayor Rudolph Giuliani presented commandant Joseph Amedeo with a gift certificate for $5 million to create one new USCGC (CG Staten Island) This year marks the centennial anniversary of Commodore Stevens’ donation which will be celebrated by hosting an event at New York City’s Madison Square Garden honoring Commodore Stevens along with other distinguished donors who have made such significant contributions to shore protection over the years.

West Allis was founded in 1854 by George Stephenson as a small town on the east side of what is now Milwaukee County. At that time most transportation used wagons drawn by horses or oxen; today buses run through town and there are also light rail systems serving portions of the city center. In 1915, when World War I began, West Allis joined with other cities inboycotting military service because they did not support war efforts. After years of protests and boycotts led by Mayor John Fritchey (1915-1920), General Motors pulled out its business from WestAllis but returned in 1926 after community leaders convinced GM to open an engine plant there instead. In 1923, a new high school was built for students living in nearby Waukegan Township; this school would eventually become known as Marquette University High School and serve both West Allis residents and students from surrounding municipalities until 1993 when it closed due to declining enrollment
