The Yakima Coffee scene has been around for over 100 years, and the coffee that is sold here today is a product of that time. The first coffee shop in Yakima was opened by George and Lillie Heston in 1905. In 1912, the first café in Yakima was opened by Mrs. Gifford Morehead. Over the years, many other businesses have cropped up throughout the city, but it was the opening of The White Swan Café in 1969 that really started to establish Yakima’s Coffee Scene as we know it today. Today, Yakima offers a wide variety of flavors and options when it comes to coffee - from light to dark roast types as well as grinding methods. In addition to its unique flavor profile, Yakima also boasts some of the best infrastructure and resources available for coffee shops – from ample parking lot space to state-of-the-art brewing equipment. This allows customers of all levels of experience to enjoy excellent cups of joe at The White Swan Café, making it one of the most popular places for coffee lovers in town!

While the history of coffee in Yakima, Washington goes back many years, the first recorded mention of coffee beans in Yakima is from 1872. At that time, a Mr. Weisman found some roasted beans on his farm and brought them to town to sell. The first cafe in Yakima was founded in 1889 by John Fenton and his wife Sarah. It was called the "Cafeteria" and served small cups of coffee with cream and sugar. The business grew large enough to open its own building in 1895. In 1924, the Fentons sold their business to Harry Schieffer who ran it until he died in 1949. In 1951, Everett Riddle bought the business and kept it operating until 1986 when it closed down again due to financial problems. By 1990, only a few traces of the Cafeteria remained; however, there are numerous attestations of early coffee drinkers living and drinking near where the current Coffee House sits today (the original building now houses a restaurant).
Yakima is a city in the U.S. state of Washington, located on the Yakima River. The population was 452 at the 2010 census, up from 410 in 2000. It is part of the Wenatchee-based Sequim-Wenatchee Metropolitan Statistical Area. The Yakima Valley and its headwaters were inhabited by the Hidatsa before European contact. The area was first settled by the Yakama, who built their villages near present day Yakima Falls and founded a town there in 1853. In 1864, when Congress created King County, Washington, portions of present-day Yakima Valley were included within it as well. In 1903, Gold Rush prospectors discovered gold near what is now downtown Yakima and began to settle around it; this led to development of what became known as downtown yakima. In 1907, an irrigation canal was completed through central and eastern Yakima Valley and progress began towards becoming one of America's largest agricultural cities; much of that growth took place in what is today Pioneer Square near downtown yakima (the water flowing through today's Canal Street Bridgeoriginally spelled "Canal")). In 1916, when Russia occupied Seattle during World War I, many ethnic Russians moved into the city searching for war jobs or opportunity; this led to increased Russian immigration to Seattle from all over North America which continued until 1933 when most immigrants left for American Samoa following the passage of The Immigration Act Of 1921 which barred citizens from entering any country with a military service in World War I (the so-called "War Assets Act"). In 1958, after 46 years without an tornado outbreak fatalities recorded in Washington State due to gaslighting techniques being used against residents including some family members leaving home during these times), Governor John Kitzhaber declared an emergency because of reports of tornadoes developing within miles of his state capital Olympia; consequently $1 million dollars was allocated to improve warning systems statewide including radar coverage for both urban areas and rural areas within 100 miles radius serving as well direct communication between local emergency services centers should tornadoes occur therein In 1962–1964 Mayor Allan Jurgens worked with then Vice President Nelson Rockefeller on creating a regional planning program called "urban revitalization" which aimed at stimulating economic growth throughout Puget Sound region resulting in increasing suburban development around metropolitan Seattle while preserving open space along with new public transportation options such as bus rapid transit lines . Tactical Coffee History began in the early 1990s with a small coffee shop called "The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf". Located in the heart of downtown Minneapolis, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf was a unique and innovative spot for coffee lovers to come together and chat about all things caffeine-related. In 1994, Stumptown Cafe opened its doors in Minneapolis, becoming the first Starbucks. At that time, Starbucks was just starting to gain popularity as a popular tourist destination. In recognition of their growing notoriety and influence within the coffee industry, Starbucks donated $5 million to charity in 1995. This donation helped support various causes such as education and poverty relief. In 2001, Roastery on Second Street opened up in Minneapolis. This roastery became known for its high quality espresso drinks and delicious sandwiches made from local ingredients. The Roastery also partnered with local charities throughout its years of operation. In 2006, they launched their own line of canned goods called "Coffee benevolence". This line included delicious holiday meals like Christmas cookies and Honey Buns! Today, Tactical Coffee History continues to thrive thanks to our passionate employees and amazing products! Yakima is a town in Yakima County, Washington, United States. The population was 1,851 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Seattle-Tacoma metropolitan area. Yakima was founded by George Vancouver in 1792 as Port Townsend and named for his brother John Yakimax. In 1847, the town became known as Mount Vernon after President James K. Polk's family home in Virginia. In 1907, Yakima annexed the neighboring town of Nachesville to become one municipality with a population of over 2,000 people. The name "Yakima" first appeared on maps in 1853 and it remained an unincorporated community until it incorporated as a city on November 3, 1907. The first settler in what would become Yakima was George Vancouver who arrived on July 26, 1792 from Prince Edward Island aboard HMS Discovery (N/A). He and his wife Anna were the first white people to settle hereabouts and built their log cabin on present day North Main Street about three miles east of today's downtown core on land that later became part of Mount Vernon Township. In 1847, when Yakima annexed Nachesville to become one municipality with a population of over 2,000 people, it was decided that its new name should be Mount Vernon because this remote location had once been home to George Washington and his family during their stay between Presidents Adams (1797-1801) and Jefferson (1804-1809). At 1:00pm EST on October 5th 1897 – more than 100 years after he had last been seen alive – President James K . Polk died at Liberty Hill Plantation near Petersburg Va., leaving behind two daughters: Rachel Harrison Polk (Died 1865), widow of General Andrew Johnson; Alice Bourke Polk (Died 1901), widow of Colonel Nathaniel Bourke VC;and Sarah J . Walton Polk (Died 1917), widow of Admiral Ernest J . Sampson VC & Mrs Laura Ingraham Sampson VC.) For many Americans this event constituted an end to history as only four living presidents had ever served beyond term limits! As such we can enjoy current Presidents Obama (2009 - 2020) & Trump (2020-) while they still have time! The Yakima area was first settled by the indigenous people of the area in the late 18th century. The first European to explore and claim the Yakima Valley was Captain George Vancouver, who explored and mapped much of what is now Washington in 1792. In 1853, gold was discovered on the Yakima River, which led to a surge in immigration to the area. By 1870, over 100 families had made their homes in the Yakima Valley. The community rapidly developed into a bustling town with many businesses and residences. Despite this growth, there were few public services available to residents outside of local churches and schools. In 1912, city officials voted to annex neighboring towns of Bellingham and Olympia so that they could share resources more evenly. In 1975, following ratification of the United States Constitution by Congress, Yakima City became an incorporated municipality.
