When Yakima coffee first became popular in the early 1800s, it was a small town located in the Rogue River Valley. Today, Yakima is home to one of the most iconic and well-known coffee brands in America. The origins of Yakima coffee date back to 1792 when Gabriel Gomez was importing beans from Spain. By 1836, Yakima had become an important center for roasted bean production because of its fertile soil and proximity to Portland, Oregon. In 1885, John Holland opened his own roasting business in Yakima and quickly became known as one of America's leading roasters. Between 1906 and 1916, Holland introduced a variety of new coffee beans into the United States that helped make Yakima one of the most prominent coffee communities in North America. With over 100 years of history behind it, Yakimas legacy as a world-renowned coffee producer can be seen today throughout much of the Pacific Northwest.
Fresh roasted coffee beans are the perfect way to enjoy a delicious cup of coffee. Roasting is an important step in making this beverage taste great and ensuring that it remains fresh for long periods of time. The process of roasting a bean brings out the best flavors and aromas of the coffee, resulting in a smoother drink. Roasted beans also have a longer shelf life than processed or pre-packaged coffee. When choosing fresh roasted coffee, it is important to select beans that are free from defects such as pests or animals. Additionally, look for beans that are whole and not ground. Ground coffee has been chopped up into small pieces and is usually less flavorful than whole beans. Be sure to try different brands and types of roasted coffee to find the one that fits your preferences the best!

There are several cultural attractions within reach of Yakima including art galleries, music festivals, and theaters.
Fresh roasted coffee is a term often used to describe coffee beans that have just been picked and roasted. Coffee beans are dried in the sun or in an oven, but fresh roasted coffee is brewed directly from the bean. This type of coffee has a much different flavor than processed coffee, and it’s perfect for those who enjoy a strong cup of java without all of the sugar added to it. Fresh roasted coffee can be found at most small café chains, as well as larger grocery stores.

The Yakima Valley is a valley located in the state of Washington. The Yakima River flows through the valley and forms its border with Oregon. A number of towns and villages are located in the Yakima Valley, including Yakima, Wenatchee, Mount Vernon, and Centralia. The first European to visit the area was Captain John Cook in 1792. The area that now makes up the Yakima Valley was inhabited by the Shawnee people before they were forced out by Native Americans in 1805. The treaty which ended the Indian War was signed on Feb. 12, 1855, by Ulysses S. Grant and Chief Seattle. After being freed from British rule, many of these Shawnee people moved to what is now central Washington County. In 1864, gold was discovered near Wenatchee and new settlers began moving into this part of Spokane County. This led to what is known as “the Gold Rush” which lasted for several years throughout most of 1865-1868. At its peak, this period saw an influx of more than 350 miners into the area! By 1870 however, only about 25% of those who had come over were still living there! It wasn’t until after World War II did this population increase significantly again! Today, much of what makes up the Yakima Valley has been developed due to its location withinSeattle County or because it has become a center for agriculture or industry!
In 1847, Yakima was named by the Lewis and Clark Expedition as the site of their winter encampment. The first white European sighting of Yakima took place on July 14, 1792 when Captain Pierre François de La Salle sighted a small island off the coast of Yakima during his visit to Puget Sound. After landing on the island, he noted that there were no trees or buildings on it and presumed that it was uninhabited. In 1847, John McLoughlin surveyed the area and recommended that Yakima be renamed for General George Washington because of its strategic location at the confluence of several rivers. On December 3, 1847, a unanimous vote in Congress approved changing the name to George Washington National Monument.
