From 1941-1946, Northrop Grumman produced over sixty B-24 Liberator bombers for use by the United States Air Force (USAF). These planes were different from any other bomber in that they were designed specifically for strategic bombing missions. During this time period,Northrop Grumman was also contracted to build seventy-six P-47 Thunderbolt fighters for use by RAF fighter pilots in England. The end of World War II brought about changes within the USAF and within Northrop Grumman. With post-war restrictions on appropriations and production quotas set by Congress,Northrop Grumman had difficulty continuing its involvement in bomber development or fighter production outside of wartime needs. On September 1st, 1946,NorthrupGrummans bid for a new USAF Bomber Development Program (BDP) was accepted and it was announced that their new company name would be Lockheed Martin Corporation (LMC). LMC would be responsible for all non-aircraft combat programs within LockheedMartin until it was absorbed into MARFEC on July 1st 1957. During this time period there were three main types of aircraft produced by LockheedMartin: Aircraft Design & Modeling; Aeronautical Engineering; and Production & Test Management which is now known as Manufacturing Operations Division (MOD). Aircraft Design & Modeling provided design services for both airframes and engines while Aeronautical Engineering developed equipment necessary to flies airplanes including wingspan meters/dirometers/navigators etc., while Production & Test Management managed production operations such as deliveries schedules and manufacturing quality control standards

Yakima is an unincorporated community in Yakima County, Washington, United States. It is located on the south bank of the Yakima River. The population was 708 at the 2010 census. The first Europeans to visit what is now Yakima were traders and travelers from British Columbia in 1851-52. In 1855, homesteaders set up a cabin near the present site of Yakima Falls on the banks of the Yakima River. The following year, they built a sawmill and gristmill on Whitewater Creek east of town. In 1860, John Wesley Powell traveled through this area and named it after his friend James Cushing who had been born in England in 1795. In 1865, commissioners decided that part of Yakima County should be annexed to Clallam County so that land could be sold for building purposes and other purposes such as irrigation canals could be developed northward from the county seat at Ellensburg (later Colville). This annexation was accomplished by legislative enactment on February 15, 1865 under then Governor James Kapp's administration. Yakima became an incorporated town when it was one of 31 communities incorporated into Thurston County effective January 1, 1901 pursuant to ยง 9A RCW 21st century local government laws which allow towns to become more self-reliant through incorporation into adjacent counties when appropriate; however most annexations take place through legislation rather than by ordinance because there are many more villages within those boundaries that desire annexation status but lack formal authorization from their governing body; accordingly incorporation takes precedence over village desires most often resulting in increased taxation rates for these jurisdictions payer/s . On July 12th 1957 a group of citizens led by appointee Mayor Harry Childress petitioned state legislators with a request to create a new city charter with full powers similar to those granted cities like Tacoma or Seattle having passed ordinances granting them similar powers dating back to 1899
