The Wenatchee National Guard was formed on July 1, 1907, in Wenatchee, Washington. At the time of its creation, the National Guard consisted of only a few hundred soldiers and women. However, over time the military service of Wenatchee's citizens has grown and changed significantly. The guard has played an important role in both local and national history. The first event that the Wenatchee National Guard participated in was a parade on July 4, 1907. This parade was also the organization's first public appearance. In 1911, the Wenatchee National Guard helped celebrate America's bicentennial with a patriotic parade through town. The guard also served as honorary members of various organizations during this time including American Legion posts in Tacoma and Spokane. In 1924, there were changes to how military service was organized in the United States and by state within reason became necessary for all male citizens aged 18-25 years old Width 21st January 1923 (Public Law 93 - 521) which amended title 10 USC § 636 et seq., known as "National Defense Act" (NDAA). As part of this amendment Congress directed that units organized under chapter 9 [of Title 10] be turned into regiments or brigades instead of companies; however these organizational changes did not take place until 1927 when authorized unit numbers reached 10000+. On October 15th 1927 at His Majesty’s Theatre in Seattle WA their first performance as a regiment[2], playing to capacity before 3000 spectators! TheGuard continued its operations primarily as ancillary services for other branches of government until 1942 when it became an official infantry brigade under Tenth Army Corps Headquarters! After World War II ended Local Militia units were disbanded while Federal Units continued but reverted back to company level once readied for mobilization again! Despite many challenges faced by our community throughout its history we are proud to have been a part of it from beginning to end!

Wenatchee, Washington is a small town in the northwest corner of Washington state. The population was 9,856 as of the 2010 census. The town is bordered by Chelan County to the south and east, Douglas County to the west, and Kittitas County to the north. It is one of two towns in Wenatchee county and it has a total area of 3 square miles (8 km²). The first people who lived in Wenatchee were Native Americans. They built villages on riverbanks near where the current Wenatchee River flows into Puget Sound. The first white person to live in Wenatchee was John Wesley Smith, who came from British Columbia in 1847. He founded a mission here called Fort Hall after he discovered gold near what is now Wenatchee. In 1872, settlers started moving into Wenatchee from Seattle Territory. Most of these people were farmers who bought land along the Suquamish River. By 1904, more than 50% of the town's population was European American. In 1915, when World War I began, many men answered calls for service and left Wenatchee for combat zones around the world. Some women also enlisted in military service; they are known as "Wenatcheese Wives". After World War II ended, many people went back to their homes in Wenatcheee and other parts of Northwest Washington State. However some residents decided to remain in Wenatchee because it offered good educational opportunities and its small size made it easy to connect with others."

In many cases, the Guard has played an essential role in keeping our nation safe and secure. Today, the National Guard remains an important part of America’s constitutional order. The unit is composed of men and women from all walks of life who are dedicated to upholding our democracy and ensuring that we always have the resources necessary to protect ourselves. Despite recent controversies around funding and organization, the Guardsmen and Women provide critical services throughout our country. National guard gift history can be traced back to 1790 when Congress passed a resolution authorizing the enlistment of certain militiamen for service in time of war. This decision proved fateful as early conflicts led to increased numbers of soldiers on American soil. The militia was quickly putto use during the Revolution – playing a vital role in repelling British troops while also combating tax evasion by royalists. After independence was achieved, national guardsmen were called upon to help maintain law and order during Reconstruction efforts. In response to requests from state legislatures, federal troops were deployed in key states during this time period including Texas (1867-68), Mississippi (1871-72), West Virginia (1902-03), New Mexico ( 1912 ), Arizona ( 1912 ), California ( 1846 ). In World War I , over 1 million soldiers served within both U.S.-led forcesand German Wehrmacht units; more than any other U.S.–based combatant force . Most servicemen gave their lives inbattle or were wounded . More than 4200 generals have been named after members ofthe national guard since its establishment; diversity is reflectedin Uniform Officers’ Insignia Branch insignia designations which rangefrom George Washington thru current day Headquarters Command Sgtgmt NCOs/First Lt Cols
