Since 9/11 there have been multiple deployments to Afghanistan by both America’s military forces and Nato member nations such as Australia and Poland; these deployments have seen an increase in civilian casualties due to indiscriminate gunfire being conducted by coalition forces outside Afghan villages during counter-insurgency operations targeting enemy combatants rather than targeted killings or raids authorised by commanders on the ground. In November 2009 NATO members agreed to begin withdrawing their troops from Afghanistan within six months; however this process has been dogged with delays due to struggles over who will take control of various government ministries following withdrawal – leaving communities increasingly dependent on US forces for security services which can be unstable under any new conditions. Spokane is a city in Washington, United States. The population was 73,521 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Spokane County. In 1909, an act was passed which designated Spokan Falls as the site for America's first hydroelectric power plant; this facility would come online in 1913 and become one of America's most famous landmarks. The city's dominance within mining country led to its nickname "The Gold Capital of the World" during this time period (1910-1920). After World War II ended, lumber production dwindled while heavy industry grew thanks to GI Bill appropriations (1945-1949). However, economic recession hit Spokane hard beginning in the late 1990s and early 2000s accompanied by high rates ofoverty and crime rates among Native American communities living near industrial sites such as Chinook coal mine east of town. In 2007-2008 voters approved Measure 99 which raised sales taxes 1%. Since then growth has slowly resumed although there are still many challenges facing spokan: poverty/crime rates remain high especially among Native Americans who have been hardest hit by recent layoffs at Chinook coal mine where jobs have been eliminated due to automation

Spokane, Washington is a city in the U.S. state of Washington, and the county seat of Spokane County. The population was estimated at 508,362 as of 2016 Census estimates. Afterward, poverty and crime rates declined while economic indicators grew steadily through both world wars until reaching their current levels during the late 20th century—a time when grunge music took hold across much of North America In 1984–85 Mayor Dave Bing called for annexation intoKing County but no action ensued due to regional political conflict over land use changes within King County specifically targeting Spokane as an unintentional victim resulting from uncontrolled growth within neighboring counties since annexation). The Spokane Indian Reservation was established in 1855 and the first white settlers arrived in 1857. The reservation was renamed to the Spokane Land Grant Agency in 1865. In 1907, the agency was merged with the U.S. military post of Fort Sill to become the present-day Spokane National Forest. The forest is located on most of what is now known as the Spokane Indian Reservation
