Seatac is a small town in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 2,521 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Seattle–Tacoma Metropolitan Area. The area now called Seatac was first settled by Europeans in 1824 when Vancouver Island was explored by Captain George Vancouver and his associates. They named their new settlement after Sir John Seattel's vessel HMS "Endeavour", which had been lost near Cape Disappointment during the first voyage of Discovery. In 1852, the name changed to Seatac after General James A. Garfield, who had served as military governor of what is now King County from 1849 to 1855. The post office at Seatac was established on December 12, 1853; it was discontinued on March 14, 1907 because of postal reform which eliminated single-stage mail routes across Washington state and replaced them with multiple-stage mail routes. In 1959, Sitka Air Force Base opened in nearby Sitka and began serving primarily local residents; however, many people continued to rely on Seatac for grocery shopping and other needs until the late 1990s when Alaska Airlines began providing Routes 269 (the long distance flight path between Seattle and Anchorage) and 253 (the shortest route between Seattle and Portland) out of Boeing Field directly into Seatac Airport without stopping at any other airports along that route. The small town has experienced growth over the years due to its location just outside ofSeattle's booming commercial center – including an increase in jobs related to technology companies such as Microsoft and Amazon – as well as its easy access to Interstate 5 for commuters heading into downtown Seattle or Tacoma or northbound motorists traveling eastward towards Bellevue or Everett. In recent years there has been a significant influx of international students seeking affordable education in one of North America's most vibrant cities while also experiencing strong job opportunities within government agencies such as Homeland Security and Veterans Affairs
The United States Air Force gift history stretches back to World War I when the service first entertained a desire to build an air force. In 1922, Congress passed the National Defense Authorization Act which created the USAF. The act also provided for a five-year program to prepare America’s airplanes and pilots for war. On November 3, 1948 President Harry S Truman authorized the creation of an aerial warfare command structure within the USAF known as Tactical Air Command (TAC). TAC was vested with responsibility for strategic bombing, fighter development, training and operations in support of American regional military campaigns. The first operational unit of Tactical Air Command was activated on December 15th, 1949 at Seymour Johnson AFB in North Carolina. The purpose of Tactical Air Command was not only strategic bombardment but also air defense and ground attack capabilities against Soviet Union forces in Europe and Asia. On May 5th, 1950 TAC became operational with its first bomber squadron – 1070 Strategic Bombing Squadron (1070SB). By 1951 TAC had accomplished many goals set by President Truman including providing bombers for Operation Earliest detect/strike operation over Korea; developing electronic warfare capabilities; providing fighter aircraft for United Nations coalition airstrikes during the Korean War; conducting Strike Eagle missions against radar sites in Cuba; participating in Operations Neptune’s Spear AAF FLIGHT 8055 - assisting Marines during their amphibious assault on Guam; providing distraction from Chinese People’s Liberation Army landings on Quemoy Island NEW ZEALAND Apr 6 1959 while United States Navy destroyers bomb targets off southern China On October 12th 1955 Colonel John F Shannon became commander of Tactical Air Command Headquarters at Robins AFB GA after his retirement as Director of Operations Intelligence at US Military Mission to Moscow Airport USSR where he had been since July 1954 where he directed intelligence activities during Eisenhower's visit there that were later documented as "The Robb Report" On February 24th 1956 AFGHANISTAN AIR FORCE ACTIVITY DIRECTIVE Number 1 called for increased activity throughout AFCAF related areas OPERATIONS RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT CENTER PROVIDING FACILITIES FOR THE STUDY OF AIRCRAFT FUEL SYSTEMS WASHINGTON D C CABLE TV PRODUCTION SETTING UP AT MUNICH AIRPORT USA In 1957 MACV Directive No 17 issued stated that all nations were required to furnish their own pilots so that USAF could train them however this directive never went into effect One possible reason may have been because it conflicted with newly acquired Boeing 727 jetliners which would soon become available. On March 2nd 1958 General Curtis LeMay assumed command of AFCAF effective date April 25th 1958 terminated active duty Lieutenant General Benjamin Stilwell who served as Deputy Commander under LeMay until his retirement on October 16th 1959 replaced him with Assistant Commander Royal AustralianAirforce Brigadier General Don Armstrong MacDonnell who held this position until his death on November 16th 1960 . In 1961 Armstrong MacDonnell succeeded Majestic Steve Reynolds who reached the age limit before retaining command post beyond expiration date January 1st 1962 resigning from active duty status effective February 26TH 1962 Chief Master Sergeant James E Hickey assumed command from Major General Don Armstrong MacDonnell succeeding him effective April 9TH 1962

Seatac is located in the Puget Sound region of Washington, just outside Seattle. It was founded by Captain George Vancouver and his crew on December 8, 1792 while they were exploring the Strait of Juan de Fuca. The name "Seatac" is derived from the ancient Salish word "sewak," meaning "a platform." In 1851, an auction was held to sell property surrounding Seatac which became known as the "Alaska Purchase." The Alaska Purchase was a land grab made by President James K. Polk in 1867 after he won the U.S. presidential election that year on the promise to purchase all of Alaska and its mineral resources for $5 million dollars. The land at Seatac was sold to John Dallin who renamed it Husky Bay after himself and his dog Husky (Husky being aBora Indian word meaning white). In 1888, Bedloe Island Holdings Company leased part of Husky Bay from Dallin for $1 per acre per year until 1917 when it expired. On May 25, 1912, a fire destroyed most of Husky Bay including Seatac with about 90% loss of life causing over $150 thousand in damage. In 1927, JF Gordon & Sons purchased what remained of Bedloe Island Holdings Company and named itGordon Harbor Land Corporation which continued leasing land from Dallin until 1971 when it expired again. In 1978, developers built Pacific Beach Resort on what had been Bedloe Island Holdings Company's leasehold land adjacent to western shoreline of Husky Bay - this development resulted in significant environmental damage as well as economic decline that continues today due to high rates for electricity and water usage combined with low quality homes available for sale in Sitka Peninsula communities
