The Marine Corps has deployed gift history in Sammamish, Washington for over fifty years. The tradition of giving gifts to Marines dates back to World War II and the Marine Corps Gift Registry at Camp Pendleton. This event was part of their "Gift History" tour which took them all around Washington state and reached Tacoma on December 11th!

The Sammamish area is located in the eastern third of Washington state and includes the towns of Chelan, Sammamish, and Wenatchee. The land here was first settled by Native Americans around 7000 BC. In 1847, when British Columbia was granted to America, much of what is now Washtenaw County was added to Puget Sound as part of Seattle Territory. The land here became agricultural, with crops such as wheat and barley being grown. However, logging began to take hold during the late 1800s after lumber companies found richempty country along the lakeshore here. By 1916, logging had stopped completely in most parts of the rural area around Sammamish because it was opponents of World War I who managed tostop the country from becoming a battlefield. In 1935, Congress created Lake Washington State as a resultof the Great Depression and decided that all water resources within this newly designated state would be used equally for agriculture and other purposes. This decision led to an increase in ethanol production onshore near Sammamish due to demand from farmers for fuel for their equipment. also during this time many people moved into what is now known as Sammamish Heights due to its high quality schools and easy access to new amenities including shopping malls and freeways

Gifts have been given to Marines in many different ways, some more traditional than others. tradition dictates that a Marine receive a physical representation of his/her service, whether it be a medal or trophy. There are also occasion where gifts are sent directly to the Marines in their unit who may be stationed at home or overseas. One particularly longstanding tradition is the deployment of Christmas presents to Marines. This practice began during World War II when the military found it difficult to find appropriate gifts for enlisted personnel who were deployed abroad on combat missions. In order to make up for any shortages, Marines received various Christmas gifts from their unit commanders, friends and family members back at home. even after the war ended, troops continued to send Christmas presents home with their units until 1971 when Corporal First Class Darrell Aiken became the first Marine ever to open an individual package on Christmas day as part of Operation Santa Claus (U.S.-UK). Nowadays, Marines can purchase pre-packaged items online or in local stores before they leave on deployment so they don’t haveto worry about delivery times and they can get special treats while away from home like candy canes or hot chocolate while still enjoying good company! Sammamish is a town in Washington County, Washington, United States. The population was 3,651 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Seattle metropolitan area. The name Sammamish means "simmering pools" in the local Chinook language. The town was founded in 1854 by fur traders and their families who arrived from Russia and other parts of Siberia route via Fort Lawley on the Olympic Peninsula. The first post office was established in 1855, and named for Russian military general Ivan Turgenev's(1797-1864) wife Samuella (née Kuznetsova). In 1865, a school district was created out of land donated by John Davenport Goodrich. In 1872, lumber merchants formed a sawmill at what is now known as First National Bank Park; this mill produced logs for building WSU's first dormitory buildings on campus in 1888-89. By 1890, when WSU became an university, much of the logging had stopped and most of Sammamish had been abandoned except for small villages near First National Bank Park where people still operated small shops selling goods gathered from nearby forests or harvested within walking distance from their homes. In 1911, congregationalist ministers led by Reverend Jenson Meeks organized a church at what is now Sammamish Elementary School which soon grew into a large congregation with members throughout the region including Olympia and Bellevue; membership peaked at 1,500 in 1916 when they built their first pastors' home on land donated by Rev Hamertine[1] . Growth slowed after World War II as people turned to agricultural production instead of heavy industry; however enrollment has slowly increased since then reaching 4,711 today. It should be noted that there have been some tension moments over doctrinal differences within denominations presence within town limits (e.g., Presbyterian vs Unitarian Universalist). Today many residents are active participants in local government including City Councilmember Steve Novoselic who represents District 7b (the eastern edge of town), Mayor Jenny Durkan whose ward includes much of downtown Sammamish as well as Elizabeth Grahamwho represented Ward 6 until she resigned to become city councilmember [2].Sammamish also features prominently in popular culture such as "The CW's Wizards," "Saturday Night Live," "Portlandia" & more recently "How I Met Your Mother."
