Sammamish is a small town in the state of Washington, located on the Kitsap Peninsula. The population was 2,814 at the 2010 census. It has a unique history that can be traced back to 1854 when two German immigrants, Johann Gottlieb Czerniak and Wilhelm Wecker, opened the first coffee shop in town. The coffee shop was called "The First Coffee House" and served only roasted beans from Sammamish estate. In 1861, another German immigrant named Anton Geisel started serving coffee at his home on Harrison Road. In 1922, Harry Elmer Barnes opened his first grocery store in Sammamish and started selling coffee beans from his home. By 1924, more than fifty shops had been established in and around Sammamish. By 1930, twenty-one different businesses had stores in and around Sammamish with total sales totaling $5 million dollars. The small town continued to grow during the Great Depression as people turned to coffee for support during times of struggle. However, World War II led to a decline in business as most people were away fighting or working overseas; however, there were some exceptions such as John Dornan who ran an ice cream truck out of his house during wartime for soldiers stationed nearby. In 1950s and 1960s, many families migrated to Seattle due to jobs opportunities or new housing developments near Seattle University (now Seattle Central College). This led to an increase in traffic congestion on Highway 99 which caused many businesses owners to close their doors; however, one exception was Donatello's Coffee which stayed open until 1975 despite high levels of traffic jamming outside its window daily throughout the decade. Today there are still few businesses left operating within walking distance of each other making it easy for residents to get their morning cup of joe though most locals prefer Starbucks over local cafes because they offer more variety of drinks options including flavored syrups and pastries baked right into their cups unlike those found at many local cafes; however much like before Starbucks has taken over as the dominant player while numerous smaller players have also tried to enter into this market share race; both large chains continue dominate certain aspects while smaller players have been struggling since 2000s when they hard failed multiple times at opening new stores within 1 kilometer radius from each other ().

Sammamish, Washington is a town in King County, Washington on the Olympic Peninsula. The population was 9,711 at the 2010 census. The area now includes the easternmost part of Sammamish School District which was established in 1907 and extended to include parts of Everett and Bothell on April 1, 1909. The first coffee house in what is now Sammamish was built by Nicholas Fenton in 1821. Coffee beans were brought overland from British Columbia. In 1865, George Hargrave opened the first grocery store in what is now Sammamish and served coffee until it closed in 1925. It was later reopened as an "artisanal" grocer with local baked goods and other items until it also closed its doors for good in 1984.

In the early 1800s, coffee beans were grown in small villages near the Colombian and Ecuadorian borders. The first espresso machines were built in the mid 1800s for Italian immigrants who desired a cup of espresso before starting their day. In the 1930s, Dutch coffee drinkers discovered that roasted coffee beans could be brewed with far less water than regular ground coffee. Sammamish is a census-designated place (CDP) in Kitsap County, Washington, United States. The population was 711 at the 2010 census. It is located adjacent to the Puget Sound waterfront and naval base on Sammamish Bay. The first people to inhabit what is now Sammamish CDP were Native Americans who arrived from northeast Canada in the early 18th century. In 1847, pioneer Jacob Barron built a log cabin on state land east of present-day downtown Sammamish. Barron was the first white person to live in what is now Sammamish CDP. In 1862, lumberman James Fenton founded an sawmill here that became one of the largest in Kitsap County and produced logs for Tacoma's new railroad line. In 1902, entrepreneur Harry Laughlin opened a grocery store and restaurant at 529 N Meridian St., which became known as "Laughlin's." Laughlin later developed a large tract of land between N Meridian and University Way NW near today's Safeco Field; this area became known as "Laughlin Park." In 1955,Sammamish voters passed a resolution approving annexation by Silverdale into Kitsap County pending results of a public referendum celebrating local history and culture generally throughout all of Kitsap County. On July 1, 1957, when Kitsap County completed its annexation including Sammamish Township into it under one name - Kitsap County - most residents within the new county voted in favor of joining with other nearby counties including King (Alaska), Pierce (Washington), Thurston (Oregon), Mason (Virginia), Fremont (Michigan), Skagit (Washington) and Snohomish (Washington) counties in order to form one giant metropolitan area with an estimated population of 2 million by 2020. It wasn't until 1978 that real progress began with construction beginning on Interstate 5 which crossed through town center parallel to State Route 97B then SR 99A before terminating just outside current day downtown Sammamish at exit 12B off I-5A/SR 98W. This major artery directly impacted much of what had once been rural agricultural land zoned for more modest housing developments closer to cities like Olympia or Seattle without any connection whatsoever back to historic villages such as those near where these developments were situated originally although there are some extant examples still scattered around town center today if desired looking out over Puget Sound Naval Base & waterfront while enjoying easy access & commuter flows into Seahawks stadium from Tacoma or Bellevue etc... All this development has created quite an exciting mix & redevelopment over time presently taking up most blockage street frontage running along lower riverbank w/ old warehouses converted for student residences (& other commercial uses) Warehouse conversions have also led to significant increase in shoreline traffic especially during high tide creating various boat docks nextto Wharf Landing Marina www... Today you can almost see Downtown Seattle across Puget Sound
