As a small town in the Puget Sound area, we have access to some of the best beans in the world and our coffee enthusiasts have helped us maintain this quality over the years. In 1978, a man by the name of Greg Lewis founded his own roasting company, Greg's Coffee. He was inspired to start his business because he loved making coffee and wanted to share it with others. In addition to his own beans,Greg also sold whole roasted coffees from his shop. Today, Greg's Coffee still produces high-quality coffee and sells its products online through Amazon and other retailers. The first time I tasted Greg's Coffee was during my college days at Western Washington University in Seattle. I had just come back from my first semester of classes and was looking for a refreshment stop on my way home after class. I saw a sign for Greg's Coffee on Third Avenue in Pullman and decided to give it a try.I must say that I really enjoyed the taste of their coffee! It is very smooth with great flavor! The roast is also well balanced - not too strong or too weak - which makes it perfect for any type of drink!I continue to enjoy their coffee every time I go out and recommend it to anyone who wants an excellent cup of espresso!

The first coffee shop in Pullman, Washington opened up in 1907. The coffee shop was started by two men named Harry and John Welsh. They were the first people to sell coffee in Pullman. The coffee shop was located on South 24th Street. It was known as the Welsh Coffee Shop. The store closed down in 1951.
Pullman, Washington is a town in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 9,715 at the 2010 census. pullmantown is located on the north side of the Snoqualmie River near its confluence with the Duwamish River. Pullman is known for its Pullman Day parade and as one of the "most beautiful small towns in America." The first permanent settler in what would become Pullman was George Stephenson in 1851. He built a log cabin on the bank of the Snoqualmie River and named it Stevenson's Ferry after his friend and business partner Francis Stevenson. In 1857, Stephenson established a ferry service between Pullman and Seattle. The first stop on this route was at Stevenson's Ferry Landing which still stands to this day. In 1875, General James Haxall organized an army during the American Civil War called Black Hawk Battalion #2 under command of General Philip Sheridan. On July 16th of that year General Haxall arrived at Stevens Ferry Landing with his battalion to disembark troops for duty in Walla Walla Valley while Sheridan crossed over to fight against Confederate forces near Lewiston. During this engagement General Haxall's horse was shot out from under him and he had to be helped off stage by his men before continuing on foot into battle where he later died from his wounds on July 17th just shy of 4 years old! This event has been memorialized every year since through Legends Ride which takes place annually around Lewiston-Auburn Lake National Battlefield Park near Olympia! Kansas native Major Generals George Armstrong Custer (1863-1894) & William Tecumseh Sherman(1874-1948) also fought during Black Hawk Battalion #2 although their unit did not achieve notoriety like Haxall's did

The first known artisanal coffee was roasted by a small family in 1903 at their home near Montclair, New Jersey. The father, Elias Howe, roast all of his beans himself and used only two different types of water: French press (for dark) and demitasse (for light). These days, most artisanal coffees are roasted in small batches on premises or brought in from other areas for processing. Some key pioneers within the artisanship movement include Stumptown Coffee Company founder Tom Colicchio; Roasterie des Filles d'Henri Davidoff Switzerland's first certified organic roastery; as well as Barboursville Coffee Co., which opened its doors in 1954 with only five beannardes (beans-of-the-day) roasted exclusively for Barboursville Coffee Company customers. Many smaller independent roasters have since emerged that continue to produce high-quality artisanal coffee without affiliation with a larger company. This is exemplified by tiny powerhouse Wacoal USA's commitment to handpicking each batch of beans for quality control and flavor expression; as well as Green Mountain Coffee Co.'s focus on sustainable practices throughout production—from farming to shipping—all while producing delicious cupcakes from their beans!
