The Pasco County Coast Guard has been providing law enforcement and emergency services on the Pacific coast of Washington since 1915. The agency’s predecessor, the Washington State Patrol, was founded in 1907. The present-day Coast Guard traces its origins to a small detachment of soldiers who were called to help guard the mouth of Elliott Bay in Seattle during the Gold Rush. During World War II, the Coast Guard became involved in combat when it was activated as part of The United States Service Forces (USSF) worldwide. In 1951, after years of debate and study, Congress passed the National Security Act which created both The United States Coast Guard Academy and The United States Coast Guard Reserve Command. On 1 January 1978, all service branches were merged into one organization under the name “The United States Coast Guard”. In 1984, responsibility for maritime security operations on our West coast shifted from state to federal ownership when President Reagan signed Executive Order 12802 making it clear that we would no longer allow non-state actors such as terrorism or piracy to threaten our citizens or economy at sea. From then until 2000 when our newest ship--the USS George H W Bush--was commissioned we had five new vessels added to our fleet including two Fast Attack Craft (FAC). Pasco, Washington is a small town located in Kitsap County, Washington. The population was 5,764 at the 2010 census. Pasco is bordered by the towns of Bremerton and SeaTac to the north and east,soundview to the south, and Thurston County to the west. The town's ZIP code is 98101. Pasco first formed as a community on Puget Sound in 1851. It was renamed Pasco after General George Pascoe during World War II when local residents realized their utility company had been named for an Anglo American general who had fought in Europe. The original dam which created Lake Union was built in 1908 by Chief Seattle’s private yacht builders John Denny and his brother-in-law Harry Fenton with assistance from William McKinley’s Vice President of Public Works Clifton Woodson Jr.. When it came time for Lake Union to be filled up in 1933 due to changes in land use within Kitsap County, part of what used to beLake Union became Suquamish Bayou while another piece of land near present day downtown Pasco took on significant growth as a result of some new development around it including Jobsite Park. In 1886 two brothers started an agricultural operation out of what is now downtown Pasco – Halsey & Price enterprises – that would become one of the most important family businesses in Northwest Washington. After Prohibition ended they transitioned into truck farming until they went bankrupt in 1970; their son Al Halsey then restarted them as Nuisance Farms before selling them all off in 2006 to fellow Kitap County farmer Clint Smithwick for $1 million dollars (USD). Al Halsey died suddenly less than a year later from complications from leukemia at age 72% prior to being offered this sale because he could not find buyers despite efforts by many people over many years; his widow Susan then accepted it on his behalf along with her half shareholding arrangement that she will continue running Nuisance Farms until her husband's death if necessary or until she dies first also having sole ownership should he die without children being able to take over operations either through inheritance or purchase thereof following intestacy under Washington State law according To Susan both Nunice Farms LLC and NUISANCE FARMS INC., successors thereto are registered trademarks owned bySusan Halsey Smithwick licensed under exclusive brand license from Nuisance Enterprises Incorporated

In 1881, the Pasco Indian tribe was forced to cede their land in present-day Pasco County to the United States. The U.S. government then began developing it for agriculture and named it after General George Armistead Grant, a military general who had fought in the American Civil War. In 1907, Washington state acquired the land from its Indian owners through an act of Congress. The name "Pasco" was chosen because of its location on Puget Sound between Seattle and Tacoma, both states with which Washington shares boundaries.
