The Toga was also issued as a commemorative item to members who had served during or after World War II. Another well-known gift is the “Gift of Freedom” which was given to the unit on May 12th, 1945 in memory of all those who lost their lives during World War II. The Gift of Freedom was made up of an American flag and four gold stars representing each member killed in action during World War II. The Mountlake Terrace Army Depot was established in 1916 as the Puget Sound Arsenal. In 1951, it became the Mountlake Terrace Army Ammunition Plant. The plant closed in 1984 and its assets were transferred to the United States Department of Defense's Aberdeen Proving Ground. The depot reopened as the Mountlake Terrace Army Ammunition Research Laboratory on October 15, 1984.
Mountlake Terrace is a small town in Pierce County, Washington, United States. The population was 2,818 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Bellevue-Everett Metropolitan Statistical Area. Mountlake Terrace is known for its agricultural land and its large apple orchards. The first settler in Mountlake Terrace was James Waugh in 1853. Waugh named his property "Mountlake." The town began to grow slowly until the early 1920s when a new irrigation canal was built and Highway 97 was routed through the area making it more accessible. In 1925, Mountlake Terrace became a city and has since grown rapidly with annexations from other towns in the metropolitan area including Everett and Bellevue. Today, Mountlake Terrace is an active community with many residents involvement within their local government as well as national organizations such as AAA and American Legion Post #2 which meets at the nearby Community Church on School Street. There are also several restaurants, stores, services and churches located throughout the community that make it an important stop on your travels in Pierce County.

Mountlake Terrace is a town in the King County, Washington, United States. The population was 5,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Bellevue–Everett area. The first European to visit Mountlake Terrace was Captain George Vancouver on July 14, 1792. He named it after Mountlake Simcoe in Ontario, Canada and called the settlement New Westminster on his return trip. In 1839, John Everett built a house here as a summer home for himself and his family before he moved permanently to Bellevue in 1841. His wife Nellie did much of the house-building here. In 1872, Congress enacted the Puget Sound Land Act which gave Mountlake Terrace and its environs to King County for development as agricultural communities with rail service available for farmers throughout central Washington. The act also authorized construction of a railroad from Seattle to Olympia via Mountlake Terrace and Bothell Junction. This helped spur an influx of residents into the new communities which were founded along what would become SR 99/SR 167 (later I-5). Today, Mountlake Terrace is one of King County's most diverse towns with over 30% Native American ancestry according to Census data from 2000; this number increases when including Alaska Native people who are also citizens or residents of Yakima and other nearby villages that share certain cultural features with these tribes such as religious services being held at village meetings rather than inside individual homes like in many other places within America today where Tribal members have their own governments separate from those governing their respective reservations or clans within their own nations – similar to how many First Nations members living on reserve within Canada today run their own government separate from that governing their traditional territory within Canada while still retaining some ceremonial powers related thereto), businesses employing more than 50 employees (up from 20 just five years earlier) located primarily in professional/technical fields such as technology consulting/services; restaurants & cafes (including several award-winning Tibetan restaurants); various shops & boutiques; convention centers; golf courses & resorts; etc.; Mt Pleasant Elementary School serving grades PK-4th through 8th gradeinder alsoprivate daycare space for up to 25 students 19792 acres nowincludes three high school campuses: Bellevue High School, Issaquah High School Annex #1& 2*, and Roosevelt High School Annex #1& 2*.
