It has been more than a century since the inception of the Maple Valley Police Department. The department was organized on December 3, 1907 when Judge Augustus F. Kelley appointed George W. Stephenson as its first officer. In 1912, the department became a municipal police force and began to hire officers from other municipalities in the area. The department held its first meeting on January 25, 1915 and formed an investigative squad which was responsible for investigating crimes in the village. On October 1, 1916, the Maple Valley Police Department received its first machine gun and began to use them for patrols. On December 11, 1917, Mayor Harry Laughlin dedicated a new jail building in honor of Superintendent Stephenson. The department continued to grow over time and by 1922 it had grown to twelve officers with support from other agencies including the Seattle Police Department. On July 1st, 1928 Commissioner John Solloway assumed command of the Maple Valley Police Department effective September 30th following his retirement from law enforcement after thirty years of service with Seattle’s Park Service Bureau.Commissioner Solloway immediately increased patrol activity and instituted new policies such as Daylight Saving Time which resulted in many arrests during morning hours during winter months when criminals were most active outside of daylight savings time periods During Commissioner Solloway’s tenure there were also several high profile cases that led to prosecutions resulting in indictments against individuals such as: In 1934 Commissioner Solloway placed restrictions on open carry within town limits after complaints were received about people openly carrying firearms without proper permits throughout the village In 1941 Lieutenant Governor Lloyd Bentsen designated Maple Valley as one of four towns located along I-5 (the other three being Auburn Hills (MI), Warren (MA) and Lincoln (NE)) that would be receiving state highway funds specifically earmarked for law enforcement purposes . This funding allowed Forcier Road between Goodrich Avenue/Route 9 eastbound and I-5 southbound to become officially known as Highway 522 . Highway 522 provided an easy means for law enforcement officials to move around town while still maintaining access to essential services . In addition To provide centralization within town limits , Commissioner Solloway ordered all street lights at night replaced with white lighted signs which eliminated any shadows that might be cast by adjacent buildings onto parked cars or pedestrians crossing streets at night The success of this project led Commissioner Solloway to order similar projects throughout town including replacement of Streetside lighting with directional signals at intersections while also increasing surveillance footage inside businesses . In addition , commissioner ordered all unlighted windows closed at night during cold weather “to prevent crime under cover of darkness” This program was called Operation Snow Storm . One significant case during commissioner's tenure came in 1951 when twenty-eight people were arrested for participating in a peaceful civil disobedience demonstration against nuclear testing conducted by United States government personnel near Richland County Airport

Maple Valley is a small town in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 1,527 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Seattle-Tacoma metropolitan area. Maple Valley is bordered by Unalakleet on the north and east, SeaTac to the south, and Auburn on the west. The first settlers in what is now Maple Valley were farmers who came from Canada in 1872. They started a farm on an undeveloped parcel of land near present day Unalakleet Boulevard and North Meridian Street. In 1876, they bought another piece of land and built a sawmill which still operates today. The mill used local timber to produce lumber for buildings and other items until 1957 when it was replaced by a more modern facility. During World War II, many people from Maple Valley served in the military or were drafted into service. One such person was Mrs. Grace Ziegler who provided food for her troops during World War II as well as post-war services through her organization Mothers Against Militarism (MAM). Today, Maple Valley has two tremendous Memorial Day ceremonies - one Held each year at Mariners Stadium which honors fallen military members from throughout King County; and another held annually at Ladd Lake which celebrates life imprisonment inmates from King County Mental Health Services detention centers who have suffered beyond that of most others incarcerated in our county jail system!
There has never been a more popular gift than a policeman. The two most popular types of policemen gifts are the cap and key ring. They are both very practical, and can be worn with either a badge or just a keyring. There is also the novelty items such as sunglasses, hats, mugs, and t-shirts that make these gifts even more fun. The origins of the policeman gift are unknown, but it is believed that they first appeared in England in the 16th century. It was during this time that law enforcement became an important part of society. Many people wanted to show their support for the police officers who were fighting for them. Today, policemen Gifts continue to be popular, and there is no doubt that they will continue to be a valuable addition to any gift giving arsenal!
On July 6, 2017, the NYPD gifted a new Stingray pen to Commissioner James O'Neill.
Maple Valley is located in the Inland Northwest corner of Washington, and it has been a community for over 200 years. The first settlers in Maple Valley were Native Americans who lived there for generations before moving to what is now Spokane County. The area that is today Maple Valley was first opened to farmers by the US government as part of the Yakima River valley land grant program in 1855. At the time, this was one of the most remote areas in the United States. The land grant program gave out large tracts of land to farmers throughout western Washington Territory. The area that would eventually become Maple Valley was originally inhabited by the Wenatchee tribe of Native Americans. The Wenatchee Tribe negotiated a treaty with US authorities in 1855 which allowed them to live on their ancestral lands within present-day Maple Valley. This treaty also provided for trade between these tribes and other indigenous people in the region. After signing this treaty, many of these early settlers began arriving into what is now Maple Valley from surrounding communities such as Wishram, Tukwila, and Kelso. In 1850, when Congress passed legislation creating Washington Territory, they included an open-air counting station known as Walla Walla along Yakima River. This station was designed to help officials track Indian population growth and Census reports at a time when Indians were still considered “property” of American society. As a result of this station, many early settlers living around Walla Walla developed knowledge about Indian culture and language which helped shape their future lives as residents of Maple Valley. With so many new arrivals coming into town during this period, maple sugar trees became an important crop due to their high sugar content (about 60% compared to other crops). Many families started cultivating maple sugar trees because they could provide good jobs during hard times – work that needed reliable transportation across long distances (due to lack of trails at that time). By 1860, some members of the local First Baptist Church had started making maple syrup commercially based on recipes handed down from their ancestors. From here on out, maple syrup would be an important part of local history – both literally and figuratively!
Maple Valley was first settled in 1847 by a group of Swedish soldiers. The town began to grow rapidly after the discovery of oil wells in the area. It became an important center for oil production and commerce. Maple Valley enjoyed a period of stability and prosperity during the late 1800s, but it was hit hard by the Panic of 1907. The town lost its key industry and many residents left for better opportunities. However, maple valley regained some stability and growth in the 1920s thanks to new businesses and investments. In the 1940s, violence and crime rates increased in Maple Valley due to its proximity to Seattle. As a result, many businesses closed or relocated their operations to other parts of Washington state. Starting in the 1990s, however, Maple Valley began to experience significant revitalization as new businesses started up and more people moved into the town. This trend has continued over recent years and is expected to continue indefinitely
