The first national guard unit in Washington was organized on February 14, 1861. The unit was named the 1st Regiment of Infantry and served for three years. It was disbanded on June 30, 1861 because of the Civil War. On December 12, 1907, Congress passed a law ordering the U.S. National Guard to provide military assistance to local governments during certain emergencies such as natural disasters or riots. On January 25, 1908, the 1st regiment of infantry was re-organized as a battalion and placed under command of the newly created Washington National Guard Bureau at Olympia. On May 15, 1914, it became part of the national guard system in Oregon and remained there until 1940 when it returned to Washington State. Since its organization in 1911 through 1940, the 1st Regiment of Infantry has been responsible for training active duty soldiers from all over the United States in both rifle and artillery exercises at various locations around Puget Sound area including Maple Valley where it currently resides today. In addition to its current location within Maple Valley Municipal Services District #2 - which is also home to other municipal services - this regiment has also deployments throughout King County (1914-1920), Snohomish County (1920-1929), Thurston County (1930-1939) and Pierce County (1945). In 1941, when World War II began there were no active military units available for service so members from both state militias and county militias were called up into federal service however they only served out one year due to lack of manpower then they reverted back back to their state Militia designation once again until 1948 when they finally became a full fledged army unit once again with their own headquarters located in Olympia
The National Guard is a federally funded, volunteer-based organization which provides counterterrorism and disaster relief support to the United States. The National Guard has been in existence since 1947, when the United States Congress created it to provide support for the war in Korea. Today, there are over 350,000 active members of the National Guard across the country. National Guardsmen can be found from all walks of life and all ages. They come from every state in America and many foreign countries. In fact, some of the most diverse members of the National Guard include African Americans and Hispanics; women; homosexuals; scouts/soldiers; veterans who have served in Iraq or Afghanistan; as well as children who have expressed an interest in joining their local unit but have not yet taken steps to join permanently. National Guardsmen play a variety of roles within their local communities including emergency response, crime prevention, homeland security and education. They also frequently engaging in military-style exercises that promote teamwork skills among both civilian and military units alike. These activities help build relationships between civilians and troops that can last long after deployment endways homesickness or boredom at home
The Maple Valley National Guard was founded on November 12, 1917. The National Guard is a branch of the United States government that provides security for the country's borders and airspace. The National Guard also serves as a reserve force for the United States military.
Maple Valley is a small town in Washington State, located about 20 miles south of Seattle. The population was 727 at the 2010 census. Maple Valley is one of the most rural towns in Washington and has a primarily agricultural economy. The town is named after maple trees that are found near its center. Maple Valley was incorporated on July 1, 1955, and has had a volunteer fire department since 1959. The community currently operates an elementary school, two churches, a grocery store, and a few businesses. The town's history can be traced back to 1853 when Erik Henson founded the Henson farmstead near what is now Maple Valley. The Hensons were among the first settlers in the area and their farmstead remain today as part of Moose Lake Township. In 1869, John Dutton bought land in what is now Maple Valley from the Henson family for $1 per acre. Dutton began developing his land into what is now known as Maple Valley Township. He built several homes and started buying other farms in the township over time until he had total control over it. In 1954, when Washington state became an independent country, Maple Valley became part of Snohomish County according to county government records dating back to 1889-1892). At this time there were only three townships within Snohomish County: Moose Lake (now part of King George), Stevensville (now part of Olympia), and Parkland (now part of Auburn). As different communities were formed within Snohomish County with increasing populations density (see map below), parts of Moose Lake Township including Maple Valley fell within Stevensville and Parkland municipalities until they were annexed by Auburn in 1907-1910; however, all traces of maple trees from that period have been removed or destroyed by development activities in recent times [See photo above]. Today's Mapleton Elementary School opened its doors on September 3rd, 2006; following years of planning spearheaded by local residents together with funding support fromthe Snohomish County Light Rail Authority - which runs commuter rail service between Seattle & Tacoma - MapletonElementary becomes one stop on your commute!
The United States National Guard is one of the oldest and most decorated branches of the military in the United States. The National Guard was created on September 25, 1792, by an act of Congress to support the defense of the nation during peacetime. The first units were raised in response to a Act of War against France on October 16, 1793. From its inception until 1861, when it was abolished as a result of events following the American Civil War, the National Guard played a significant role in American history and politics. It has served as both an offensive and defensive force, often acting as part of a larger militia or army unit. In recent decades, however, its Role in American society has been limited to ceremonial purposes only. Today’s National Guardsmen display a rich history that goes back centuries. Some are descendants of those who fought for America during World War II; others have been called “the forgotten generation” because they have not received public attention comparable to that given to active duty members of the military or police forces. However, there are still many people who proudly wear their insignia and serve their country side by side with officers from other branches of our Armed Forces. One reason why current membersofthe National Guard may receive less recognition than those who have gone before them is due to changing demographics within our society and economy over time. Militias no longer function solely as traditional fighting units; instead they now play important roles in law enforcement (such as guarding government buildings), social services (such as providing child-rearing assistance) and even healthcare (such as providing medical care). In addition, many modern-day militaries do not maintain such large numbers or traditions of service specific to national guard personnel; instead they rely on individual soldiers from different regiments or battalions working together under command while sharing some common values and goals

The first state guard units were raised in New York and Pennsylvania in 1814 and 1815 respectively. On July 9, 1917, President Woodrow Wilson signed Executive Order 8802 creating an independent National Guard Bureau for each State with responsibility for military training and organization of state guard forces under Federal control only when called into service by war or emergency within that State. Since World War II, there have been many changes to National Guard gift history including: -the creation of the Military Districts system in 1946 which divided National Guards assets among various Military Departments; -the growth of helicopter warfare which made it difficult for commanders to order guardsmen directly to duty; -the increased use of technology which has made gifts such as radios and digital cameras more common; -the deployment of combat troops overseas which has led to more gifts being given to Guardsmen through support organizations such as Special Forces units and armored cavalry regiments; -and finally, changing social norms which have lead to greater donations from philanthropists wishing to send a message about support for veteran services or patriotism
Maple Valley is a small town in Wa state, located about 15 miles north of Olympia. The population was 2,818 at the 2000 census. Maple Valley was FIRST settled by Europeans in 1853. It was named for the maple tree that grows near the town's core. Maple Valley grew rapidly during World War II as many people moved to serve in the military or work on farms nearby. The post-war boom slowed down and later peaked in the early 1990s when many new homes were built in the village and neighboring townships. In recent years, however, growth has resumed and there are plans to add even more housing to Maple Valley over time. The history of Maple Valley begins with its first settler, John Winchester, who arrived in 1853 as part of a group of emigrants from Scotland. He set up a farm on what is now State Route 7 near what is now Interstate 5). By 1870, Winchester had married Anna Maria Lapp (née Olson) and their families had moved to what is now Maple Valley Township. The couple farmed until they bought land east of present day State Route 11 which they developed into a township known today as Appleton Heights Township . At that time it consisted only of themselves and seventeen other families (plus one man who served with them as an independent settler). For most of its existence, Appleton Heights Township enjoyed excellent conditions due to good soil and mild winters – something that did not always happen in other areas experiencing rapid growth during this period such as Lakeside or Auburn Hills . Today much of Appleton Heights Township still retains these desirable conditions while also adding some modern amenities such as several schools, churches/synagogues, businesses etc.). In 1865 Anna Maria’s brother-in-law Isaac Olson sold her his interest in land west of present day SR 11 for $1 ($38 per acre). This purchase created new township boundaries which became known today as Sherman Oaks–Appleton Heights Township . Eventually other settlers followed suit including David Brainerd (1866), John Karr (1868), James Deason (1870), William Hardesty (1872), George Hougham (1874), Cyrus McCormick (1876) and Oliver Purdy( 1880). These newcomers laid out roads and began farming their own land using whatever tools they could find including hoes, dogs & carts! improvements continued apace throughout this initial phase with hardware stores being built soon afterward along with schools started serving grades 1 through 12 within just two years! Unfortunately during this era significant portionsof both Appleton Heights Township & Sherman Oaks–Appleton Heights Township were burned by arsonists !! Although no one ever brought charges against these offenders it left an indictable mark on our community ! By 1890 all but three families residing within Sherman Oaks–Appleton Heights Township had departed for various reasons primarily because of lack Of available farmland or religious differences although some remained behind providing vital services such as firewood for grills !! Many residents would return home after World War I However following World War II until recently apple valley saw very little Growth thanks largely to high school Dropouts rates !! Though we have experienced modest Levels Of Growth lately due primarilyto Our current Economic Conditions
