HSB became a component of Expeditionary Forces Command (EFC) upon its activation on October 1st of that year. EFC participated in Operation Neptune’s Spear which saw Japan capitulate following their attack on Pearl Harbor on December 8th of 1942. Upon completion of that campaign HSB relocated to Okinawa where they played an important role in repelling Japanese aggression until withdrawal began in 1945. During their time at Okinawa HSB erected a number of memorials including: Aegis Park Cemetery; Hagushi Shrine; Soryu Naval Base Museum; Marines Memorial Chapel; and Naha National Cemetery are all still standing today testament to their service during World War II. During peace time HSB functionsed as an honor guard for diplomats accredited to Japan while also providing services such as ceremonial gunfire at ceremonies honoring members of the Japanese Imperial Family or visiting foreign dignitaries within Japan only when requested by relevant senior military officials or when there is no other appropriate facility available for hosting such an event within Japan proper

Lynnwood is a city in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 46,092 at the 2010 census. Lynnwood is located in the southeast corner of King County and forms a core ward with Seattle. It is bordered to the north by Interbay and to the east by Lake Union. To the south it borders Everett and Redmond. The first European to visit what is now Lynnwood was Capt John Trowbridge on July 13, 1792 while exploring Puget Sound from his ship "Discovery". He named what he found "Trowbridge's Inlet" after Admiral George Vancouver who had explored British Columbia in 1792-93 before sailing down river to present day Tacoma. On January 5th 1907 Spokane City Council passed an ordinance creating annexes for Lynnwood Township which included South Seattle and North Bellevue annexed on May 6th 1907 according to WAC 9-101(a). South Seattle became known as Ballard while North Bellevue became Auburn Hills It wasn't until 1959 when annexation of Mountlake Terrace occurred via WAC 9-251 that Lynnwood proper truly began Public education started in 1909 with 3 schools: Monona High School, Maple Leaf Intermediate School (now part of Roosevelt High), and Garfield Junior High School serving grades 1-8 . After World War I there were not enough kids so 4 more schools were built: Central High School (now Roosevelt), Snoqualmie Senior High School (now Yakima Valley Community College), University Heights SeniorHighSchool (now CenturyLink Field), Eastside JuniorHighSchool (now Evergreen View Middle/High Schools) served grades 9-12 . These schools were also originally called Northwest high schools but because they served grade levels 7 through 12 they too were renamed Northwest high schools after annexation into Lynden & Snohomish Townships
