Lynnwood is a city in Thurston County, Washington, United States. The population was 11,521 at the 2010 census. Lynnwood is the largest city in Thurston County by population and one of the fastest-growing cities in the Puget Sound area. It is also home to Cheney High School and Cheney College. The first permanent settler in Lynnwood was James Hennepin on July 4, 1851. He built a log cabin near what is now North Park Street. On November 10, 1853, Hennepin married Mary Eastman and together they founded Eastman City which grew rapidly into an incorporated city with a population of over 50 people by 1860. In 1865 Lynnwood became part of Washtenaw County when it was created from parts of Michigan and Ohio counties. The original town plat reflects this trend: it includes lands west of Wellingtons Creek and east of Snohomish River (now Lake Washington), as well as land east of I-5 on Main Street between Maple Avenue and First Avenue NW. In 1886, Lynnwood annexed the neighboring town of Everett for economic reasons; however Everett continued to have its own government until 1907 when it merged into Lynnwood proper. During World War II many American citizens who were stationed overseas moved to Lynndon for patriotic purposes or because their homes had been destroyed by fire or bombing raids; among these residents were Ray Bradbury, Harry Harrison and Roy Acuff among others After the war ended many veterans returned home while others began commuting into Lynndon from other parts of northwest Washington State through I-5 . This growth led to more than doubling the size of Lynchwood’s population between 1970 and 1980 before reaching 12,000 by 1990 due to suburbanization in adjacent Seattle – makingLynnwood one of the fastest growing cities in Puget Sound area during that time period . In 2002Lynnway merged with neighbouring Everett becoming one consolidated municipality effective October 1st 2002 with 524 full voting members including Mayor David Condon (D) ; Councilmember Rick Teague (R); Vice Mayor Lyndsay Ziegler (D ); Planning Director Tom Soria (P); Municipal Clerk Lisa Larson; Police Officer John Laughlin; Public Works Officer Rich Riekerofsky & Assistant Chief Michael Whitehurst all serving simultaneously as Councilmembers with member status only beginning February 1st 2003 . As part of this merger both City Manager Kristen Browning & Deputy City Manager Samantha Kapperman resigned effective January 15th 2003 along with all other staff positions within our Combined Municipality office effective February 1st 2003 following recommendations made by then Mayor Condon after detailed reviews done pursuant to RCW 20A 8A § 6055 et seq.; after discussion amongst councilmembers prior to adopting Resolution No 03-020 which revoked amalgamation proposed by then City Manager Kristen Browning pursuant to WAC 193B 3rd § 2282(a) thru 2284(d)). despite opposition from some councillors who felt that this consolidation would lead to increased costs associated with newFunding allocations not being available they ultimately voted 7-3 approve amalgamation resolution AO03-020 on April 28th 2003 without further public comment thereafter………. Today lynndon has become known for its large job market although there are limitations on certain types ojobs such as law enforcement officer jobs since most agencies are located outside thurston county

The RAF team were impressed by the American aircraft and gave them their own nickname "P-38s". After two months of flying training, the P-38s were deployed to America for Operation Torch in 1944. They participated inAirborne Invasion of Sicily on 10 July 1944 and helped take that island from Italian control. On 15 October 1944 they completed their mission as part of Operation Overlord which led to World War II ending. Since then, every U.SAAF squadron has been given at least one Lockheed P-38 Lightning Aircraft recipient for deployment duty or graduation exercises overseas or on basic training flights back home. These planes have played an essential role in countless military campaigns and have brought smiles to many people's faces all over the world.
